BS readings

I can't cook, so I don't cook. My husband does all the main meal cooking. I manage my own breakfasts and lunches. I will tell you a little story now. A couple of years ago I was making toast when the toaster died on me. I transferred the bread to the grill, which is part of the big oven. Oh dear. I had no idea how to switch the grill on. The symbols on the knobs were of no help. I had to call hubby. I wouldn't care, but we'd had that oven for 3 years! Isn't that disgusting for a woman of my age?

bluetit, you made me laugh
i,m no cook, at best i can make beans on toast, i even ruin a fried egg

This new med forgazia has done the last bit in bringing them down I think. Also contributing to the ongoing weight loss too I think... I'm just so so relieved to find something that works so well

I'm so pleased for you Allie, and hope Forgazia continues to help as well as it is doing, but don't forget you are also helping yourself with your diet and a bit of exercise, it isn't all your medication. So very well done and big clap from me. Too many folk (not on here) seem to eat as they please and rely on their medication to do the job for them, which I think is often because doctors say the wrong things. How many newbies do we see arriving here in a distressed way wondering why their Metformin isn't working.

Thankyou and you are so right...I have learned so very much about my food now from advice on here and testing testing..I've filled a little book with results. Ie sweet potatoes cooked 3 different ways. Each one tested. The little book is filling up by the day. It shows me trends now and at long last I'm getting my head round it...its great to see the work put in shows rewards. Knowing I've got my readings almost down motivates me so much...hopefully I will be able to help nrwbies coming on the forum so worried like I was...this forum quite possibly has saved my life...and certainly from future complications. I'm just so grateful

I'm smiling with you alliebee- all my knowledge comes from here, since day one I've had a note book at my side with everything written down that I eat etc! Oh.....and guess what will be in my slow cooker tomorrow? Homemade chicken and leek soup!!:joyful:

My freezer is full of homemade chicken stock. I may try that tomorrow.

I doubt my wife knows the cooker has a grill.

The reception on this TV in the kitchen is rubbish. It's a what? A microwave?

i bought chicken breasts and mince today so i can have a variety of meals now

I went out for lunch today and thought I'd chosen sensibly. Had a really bad headache afterwards but didn't have my meter. 5 hours later I was 8.2 so dread to think what it went up to. I logged my lunch on my fitness pal and was horrified to discover the parsnips I had were 40g carbs and the coffee was 12 g carbs on their own without the rest of my lunch ( which was ok) I thought I was quite savvy about food but just goes to show you

Not had tea yet and already blown the carb and calorie count for today

Just to check I've put my goals correctly into myfitnesspal - how many grams of carbs, fat, protein should I be aiming for ( or percentages) I'm trying to go quite low carb moderate fat ( epic fail today!)
