I got diagnosed last week T2, Had the Lucasade 2 hr test a couple of weeks ago.
Readings before 8.2 & 2 hrs later, 12.3
Here's the dumb question (this is all new to me) are these readings High? & are these numbers my HBA1C levels
Been given Metformin 500mg

Yes, those levels are high. Non-diabetic bg range is 4-6 fasting, and <7.8 after eating.

No these are not your Hba1c score. That is a separate test altogether and the results are either expressed as a % e.g. Or more commonly these days as mmol/mol a count of 42mmol/mol being the maximum "healthy" HbA1c and anything 47 and above considered diabetic.

Hi. Within 3 months you should be given a review and an HBa1C blood test to define your current level of diabetes. Do ask for this review and blood test if not offered in 3 months. The HBa1C measures your average blood sugar over the previous 3 months and is a very good measure.

Hi, Steve Gresty and welcome,
It will take a wee bit of time for you to sort things out because we all react differently with various foods.,
You will soon start to get the benefits from your diet change etc;.
It will be interesting what your readings will be in the next few weeks.
Best of luck :)
