On Saturday evening my dear daughter and son inlaw turned up with a Chinese meal as a thankyou for looking after there son.

I thought to myself don't think this is a good idea really, but didn't like to say anything.

7.03pm BG pre meal 5.8

2hrs later 9.03pm 7.5

Then at 10.43pm 9.9

In the morning by luck I was back to 5.6

I did contact my daughter and said I don't think my BG like me eating Chinese meal. So I hope she don't bring it round again.

B bacon x 2 slices
Two cherry toms
Two chestnut mushrooms
1 fried egg bullet proof coffee
Lunch and dinner spag bol sauce approx three tablespoons and 75 gramscheese ....

Had a few bad days ...ate carbs +++ bread pastry etc ..and had nasty carb craving and hungar pangs .but now back on track ....
For a moment there, I registered that you'd had a fried egg bullet proof coffee!

Have you thought of magnesium supplements? They are really good for constipation

Brought some and started on them Saturday, did you take your 300mg in one dose, that's what I have been doing. Still taking Fybogel as well ate the moment but things are progressing. Will carry on with both for a little while then stop the Fybogel and see what happens

Thanks for your suggestion alliebee.

So hope it helps you. I took 2x 300 mg at bedtime. It started working straight away. After a few weeks it settled. Good luck

Out of interest, what did the takeaway contain. I don't think you need give them up totally, but you could say your new fave dish is egg foo young or chopsuey for example, I don't think they'd be too bad on carbs. Oooh, I miss those sweet and sour chicken balls though!
Anyway, got a bit distracted there, but just try different dishes. I realised last week that the chicken in cashew nuts at asda is quite good on carbs, so maybe that's an option too. I also try to ask if it can be prepared without sugar, if there is sugar in it, they should tell you and you could avoid it - they put sugar on crispy seaweed for example.

Today I popped into a Lidl we were passing to pick up milk. Bustling through I noticed they had milled linseed with various additions, marketing it as a muesli topping. There were about 4 options.

I didn't have time to mull over them, but my knee jerk reaction was they didn't look too carb heavy, and I was thinking they might be good, sprinkled on yoghurt or added to the ubiquitous yog'n'berries standard brekkers.

Has anyone tried them?

(I can't find any links on t'internet.)

Have tried the milled linseed one from Aldi, which is very good. I keep it in the fridge for freshness.
Was tempted by the other flavours, maybe they'd be good too?

Breakfast: Large chestnut mushrooms sliced and half a large tomato fried in olive oil/butter gently and two rashers of crispy back bacon
Lunch: Boiled egg, nuts, olives and espresso with cream
Dinner: Wild rice cooked with chicken stock, buttered cabbage and chicken wings rolled in soya flour seasoned with paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and salt, then put in a hot oven til crisp :) Forgot about wild rice...

Yesterday I had cauliflower and swede mash left over so I opened a tin of white crab meat and made fish cakes with the mash, lemon grass, chilli, lime zest and garlic; dip in beaten egg and fry in olive oil/butter... rainbow salad with dressing made from mustard, garlic, chilli and a very little honey - it's a good dip too... For lunch I had cold sausages left over so I chopped them up and threw them into my home-made vegetable soup; made almond/flax flour bread toast with loads of butter... supper was almond bread with peanut butter and no-sugar added strawberry jam, then hot chocolate made with hot water, cacao, coconut oil, a little butter and sweetener and whisked well.... I slept all night but my reading was a tiny bit elevated from normal this morning... maybe the jam.... all well now though... :)

PS I discovered that you can thicken sauces and gravy with soya flour too... it makes wonderful muffins and pancakes.. sometimes you just have to...

I've just been a gluttonish pig, x2 humongous fish cakes, and piles and piles of leafy veg, with a knob of butter. kind of killed my LCHF, but boy....it was soooooo good...waiting to see if I spike now

Bookmite - it sounds perfect to me... :)

Oh how could I forget? Also had Coyo coconut yoghurt - snaffled a tub in the car after stopping by Tesco on my way home, thanks Brunneria, it was very nice. p.s. they are 3 4 2 at the mo, need to be at that price!

Went to Tesco this morning also and grabbed the last six of these because of the offer, had one at lunchtime, nice but a slight sour taste I found, I assume that's the live stuff in it :) another thanks to Brunneria!!

Chicken chow mein, King prawn special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, prawn crackers, beef and onion in gravy, and spring roll.

I had 1/2 spring roll, 3 chicken balls with about 2 table spoons of the sweet and sour sauce, several prawn crackers, and a little bit of each of the others.

I was eating it thinking this is not a good idea.

B 2 egg omelette
L 3 flat mushrooms with blue cheese, a few pork and chilli patties, a coyo
Pre bg 6.3 two hours after 6.3 so chuffed with that, going to be my be lunchtime staple till I get bored
D pork nam tok
Pudding.... Undecided, maybe another coyo

Breakfast eggs benedict on spinach
Lunch was rolled up ham rolls with St. auguer blue cheese and gherkins and celery
Dinner sirloin steak. Celeriac chips baked crisp green salad

No breakfast for me today as I was still feeling a bit rough after yesterday. Oddly, my bg was up at around the 11 mark, despite me having had nothing to eat since lunchtime yesterday.
Had a late lunch about 2 pm, mushroom saluted in butter and 3 grilled bacon rashers. Felt OK afterwards but went back to bed at 4pm.
Just got up about 1/2 hour ago and BG 4.7-fat works! Had 2 radishes, double glos cheese, goats cheese, tomatoes and courgette.

I have ordered a smoothie maker from Amazon @Susikav! Going shopping tomorrow for ingredients

Aww man, I feel for you, here's hoping you feel brighter soon, I got away with my fish cakes tea...8.2 which is exactly a 2mmol/L rise. Which takes my daily average to 6.28. Had major carb cravings today, and chocolate cravings yesterday, I think I will ask Santa for a padded cell for these times:-)

B- 2 x 98% sausages and a flak 9bar
L - tuna salad with olive oil and Mayo
D - poached salmon with salad and cheese coleslaw

9pm snack will be a small handful of nuts
