Camera club? tell me more.
It's just a small camera club that was a left over from the company when they closed the social club, they gave us some money to set up as a club on our own. As I say it's only small - 8 members, but we manage to do a programme every quarter that consists of maybe a still life (cheese, pickle, wine I like to call it deconstructed still life as the shoot goes on there's less to photograph), friends dogs, a model shoot, in the summer a landscape or two normally followed by the pub. Everyone is digital except for me I'm still clinging on to my Nikon F60/F65 and 35mm film. I know how they work and what they can do without having to think about what I did last week and how to reset the camera like the digital users. Anyway it's quite good fun, we don't take ourselves too seriously unlike some clubs who have competitions ever other week.

5,3 this morning. Weight down another kilo as well, now 91kg. BMI still high at 27,5 so no need to have to worry about slowing down the weight loss just yet.

Another 5km walk just completed.

Have a great day everyone.

5.1 this morning, so 0.5 up on yesterday, not sure why :(

I would not waist any time worrying about it 5,1 is still an excellent non-diabetic range fasting count and at any rate a variance of 0,5 is actually less than the level of accuracy of our home blood monitors( aprox. 15%).

In effect your level today could in reality be lower than your level yesterday, once you allow for the limitations of testing accuracy.

Be more concerned about general trends of readings rather than any one count; especially not when that count is a perfectly good one anyway! :-)

Have a great day!

Thanks, I know you are right. I just like to see it under 5, but accept that with testing inaccuracies and natural variance, never mind what I eat and how much I exercise will all affect this and therefore I will sometimes be above. Long term I have an average of around 4.8 which I have maintained throughout this year and will just continue with my current "regime" to try to maintain this.

7.2 this morning and............. 7.8 before breakfast...woohoo :p:D:rolleyes::hilarious::D:p does the happy dance

5.5 this morning which is a little high for me but I'm halfway through a weeks holiday and my carb intake has risen for sure as I'm less able to make my own dinners. Also the vino is flowing much more this week but hey ho I'm on holiday only one week a year.......

Congratulations on that 4,8 average. Guess you must be doing more than a few things right!

To be fair, my comment was partly to reassure you that there was no need to be concerned with a 0,5 mmol rise to 5,1 but partly for the benefit of others that may have been reading this thread, particularly any newly diagnosed struggling to get their levels down from more elevated starting points.

I appreciate that we all have our own target ranges, we all like to challenge ourselves and may feel "disappointed" when we fall short of those targets. I suspect your disappointment was a bit light hearted anyway, as you were aware that 5,1 was still a good level.

I guess what my comment was trying to say is that we need to maintain good control of our levels, hopefully within the non diabetic range, but that we do not need to get obsessive about it. This is not a limbo contest where the lower you go you win.

A sense of perspective and a more relaxed attitude may actually help rather than hinder glycemic control.

None of the above comments, other than the congratulations in the first paragraph, are directly aimed at you and please do not misinterpret my expressing a general opinion as any kind of personal attack or criticism.

Keep up the good work!
