Hi. Can you clarify? Are you trying to lose weight or avoid weight loss? Most of us recommend keeping the carbs down and supplementing with protein and fat to have adequate food intake. Note that fat does not contribute much to weight or blood cholesterol contrary to what the experts tell us; it's the carbs.
Depending on what your weight is how can anyone give you a sensible answer.
You should be able to make a wise choice diet with regard to control your diabetes.
Not knowing you I would "try a vegetarian controlled diet"
Thanks for reply I am 5'7 and weigh 8st 11 so I do not want to lose weight . I lost 7lbs when taking metformin but have recently been taken off it by my GP
