Man problems.

To answer the OP a bit more seriously (although the banter has been great) I believe that Erectile Dysfunction is more common in men over 50 than is generally assumed, but this can be caused by a number of things (work, stress) and not necessarily diabetes. Nevertheless my DN did offer me viagra (or some equivalent) for free now that I was a registered diabetic. I haven't yet taken her up on the offer.

What "man" problems have you endured after being diagnosed, or on medication. What has been done about it?
I expect that this is a serious question from a poster.

Can anyone help? The humour is great but it doesn't answer the question.
@Denthezen,

Can I ask if you are experiencing problems? If so have you seen your G.P.?

Hi. My DN prescribed Viagra a few years back. It helped a bit but I did have the pink-tinted vision for an hour or so. I gather Cialis is a better drug. I now use a penile ring if needed instead of tablets. Mine are made of soft, synthetic rubber and shouldn't be left on for too long. They work quite well and the health risk is lower. I'm 70 BTW.

I was quite serious with regard to my vegan type diet, taking the humor away, there has been a improvement in my healthy life with regard to this issue, since my diet change now over 2 years.
All I am saying is, a well controlled diet with plenty of water and if possible exercise will help with good blood circulation.
It has also been said that a vegetarian diet helps with this situation.

Autonomic neuropathy is quite capable of dis-masting a person long before diagnosis. I understand that it is that symptom that sends some people off to see their GP which is where they discover they have diabetes. Some pills have erectile dysfunction as part of the possible adverse side effects ......as though you needed that as well.

My nurse broached the subject because she thought I was too embarrassed to. She doesn't know me as well as I thought. She offered me some viagra which was kind of her since she had stopped issuing me with test strips. This shows she has her priorities in the right place. I declined her kind offer since I am in my 70's and wouldn't know where to put them.
@Squire Fulwood
You should have taken up the offer and used the Viagra to stop yourself rolling out of bed at night ;)

A friend I told that story to also thought I should have taken the viagra. He said I should have sold it and bought test strips with the money. I wonder what I would have done If I had actually got the pills.

Has the OP left us?
