Buffet Dinners?

Buffet dinners are fine as much meat and veg as you want.
Its buffet party food thats a pest all carbs, difficult to find anything.

For me I avoid all the stuff I used to enjoy like sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes and all manner of tasty goodies as they are lethal lol

I know its a pest,Im going to a party next week,I will be tempted.will look a bit silly pulling the sausage roll apart.

Don't do that Patricia. The sausage on its own tastes disgusting ( to me anyway ). It is only the pastry that gives the whole thing any flavour at all.

My xpert course dietician said one blow out on occasion t2 won't kill you....try and be cautious with other carbs that day and know your body so you can indulge without totally pigging out to the point of rebound highs (sleepless nights, sweats, excess thirst etc) .so eat the **** sausage roll! If its paid for Chinese etc meat! Little rice...noodles now hate me and I love them- see brackets! I am with the other guy -sorry I forget the name - better value for veg and meat /prawns /crispy duck...tho hoi sin sauce is now also devils food...;-)

This is exactly what was served up despite asking for no bread/ pastry when I was on a training day other week! I just scooped out the fillings :-)

I was at a post funeral buffet a fortnight ago and basically nothing for diabetics, vegetarians or vegans. I just swiped some loose pickles, leftover tuna and looked very bad mannered and a bit of a dummy...glad I had some dextrose tabs as I was Lee Marvin.

What do you class as 'diabetic' food?

To answer the op though, I usually have no problem with the types of food, but I doubt I ever get my monies worth.
Certainly I used to, it was probably worth me taking my chair over to the buffet table!
Now I eat a fairly smallish amount, but I guess it's about time they made some money back.

I wouldn't worry, people should be more aware these days, esp with veggie options, it's not that uncommon now. I must confess I did succumb to a choc brownie! It was a very wee one though...:-)

I don't class anything as 'diabetic food' as such. I'm doing lchf diet though so I'm not eating bread, pastries etc, in fact everything you find on a buffet!

It was @eddie1968 who did though.

I'm diabetic, and not doing LCHF, so maybe that's the confusion here?

Accidentally I started using LCHF diet as well. With less than half my colon left after surgery I had a colostomy which was reversed after three years. I had terrible squits for nearly a year and needed to get regular so my dietician put me on a high fibre diet for that. Low carbing came next to stabilize BGs so I think LCHF solved two issues...wow !
