Diagnosed with type 1 a couple of months ago and been controlling it well, around 85% of reading have been between 4-7 with the rest being hypos.
Only question i have is regarding exercise;
how to plan for exercise?
I've been lowering my insulin by one unit and making sure to eat within an hour beforehand, is this the best(correct) way?
Is it okay to exercise as much as you want as long as you do take it into account?

Oh...the headaches! how long do they last.

Hi, sounds like a good approach. Exercise affects insulin users in different ways and there is no simple answer. I maintain the same Basal insulin but avoid too much bolus near to the exercise time. I sometimes have a small snack just before or afterwards depending on the meter. Have as much exercise as you like as long as you use the meter to avoid a hypo. I've not heard of headaches being a problem other than those associated with a hypo

Cheers, even if my levels are too high/too low if is still okay to exercise as long as you've treated it just before? or is it best to wait a certain amount of time?

I was diagnosed two months ago and at the time i was told i'd have headaches due to all of the changes but it just feels like they're constant.

I was diagnosed type 1 on Saturday (so appreciate I don't have much experience) but I've also been having pretty constant headaches. Did yours resolve, L3wisr?

They've eased off slightly but they are still there, think it's just going to go with time (hopefully)

I'm guessing, but If it was me, I'd try to have a BG of 8 for a starter, to give me something to burn off, you can adjust you additional food or +/-insulin on board, as required next time
you adjust your weight by the amount of carb you eat, but if you are new, you are probably still putting back on the lost weight

Just be careful and if you do exercise after correcting a high as you need to be aware of what effect exercise can have, exercise can make us extremely sensitive to insulin so could lead to hypo's, personally the best advice is to wait a while and then think about exercising, either that or monitor your bg levels closely as you do.

Here's a few of my numbers, they don't seem to differ massively but i have seen that they rise whilst exercising but drop afterwards. Question, if i check my numbers at any time and they're 4.1 should i be treating for a hypo?
