BS readings

Oh dearie me, Oh dearie me.

5.5 fasting
No breakfast tests
No pre-lunch test
Lunch out ..... piece of homemade granary bread covered with egg mayo, baby salad leaves, red onion, and marinated cucumber. Left some of the cucumber as it was very sweet. Mineral water.
2.5hrs after 8.4

It's not fair, and so easily done, I gave the Granola an extra shake over the yogurt this morning & got a shocking 9.1 on 1hr. Although I managed a 6.0 on 2hrs. Thought you were safe but it looks like none of us are.....

Ouch!!!! How big a piece of bread? Did you have dressing? I find a lot of places use quite a sugary vinegraitte.

The cucumber was marinated, but I know not what in. Very sweet though. You never know what is in mayonnaise in cafes, and the bread, although delicious, was a thick half slice with a crispy crust. Still, it was nice and a one-off. Just goes to show though that no matter how well controlled we are, we are still diabetic.

Back to 5.5 now, so no harm done.

4,2 fasting

5,9 two hours after breakfast of two fried eggs, bacon and some cheese and about four strawberries

4,3 before lunch of a bowl of vegetable soup and some raw carrot.

6,8 an hour after lunch.

4,6 before dinner of pork with mushrooms in wine sauce and

6,1 two hours after

Had two crackers and some cheese as a snack

Got a new box of strips on Monday so was able to carry on my testing again today.
before brek....................7.0......no breakfast just cup of tea
2 1/2 hrs after................7.3
before dinner................7.4.......3 egg omelette with cheese + cup of tea
2 1/2 hrs after................6.8
before tea......................6.3.......2 slices of white bread toast + 4 rashers of smoked bacon + cup of tea
2 1/2 hrs after................6.5

I have been keeping a good check on this white bread toasted and it seems that I am ok to have it. I have tried it with marmalade, reading went up by 2. With cheese, again went up by 2 and tonight with bacon went up by 2. Going to check tomorrow whether the bread untoasted as a sandwich gives the same reading.

Before dinner (down south supper is something you have before bed) 5.5. Not bothered to test after as mince and veg is a known factor. ebygum lasslol-031.gif

On the road today so never got to do some of me tests

Pre Breakfast was 6.7
Pre evening meal was 5.7, 2hrs later was 7.3, 2 fried eggs, 2 rasher of Bacon, 3 sausages, 2 black pudding with black cherries for desert

I was happy with the pre evening meal of 5.7 as I had a sandwich and a tangerines (which is normal) at 1pm, then a bowl of home made soup at 3:30. Pre evening meal was done at 7:15

So dinner is lunch and tea is dinner.

So 4.5 before dinner. Ended up not being able to test at 2 hrs as in church in full pew( normally I can sneak a test in anywhere but felt a bit conspicuous )
4 hrs I was 5.1 which is in my usual ore bed range so I'll just have to take that.
