Thanks for good wishes @stable Jan. Doctors at guys not too happy with constant infection so am going in for broncoscopy in the new year and maybe a tube fitted to drain fluid and prevent or minimise infection. Steroids still the same 35mg a day. Yeh crazy sugar levels:rolleyes:

Ooh another one who has seen the effects of bitter gourd on blood sugars. :)

It works for me too! At different times, I've tried bitter gourd tablets, bottled bitter gourd juice and the actual vegetable eaten raw in salad ( an acquired taste and I can only eat a small amount) and I've added it into a curry.

So how do you manage to drink 'HALF GLASS OF BITTER GOURD JUICE'?

Do you juice 1 whole bitter gourd at home?
Hi @Rose28 yes my wife does the juicing for me.one whole gourd each day. Depends on size. I started with quarter of a glass. To be honest it is a bit less than half. Ive acquired the taste now. Didnt like the bottled stuff yuk. But im ok with fresh juiced. I also have lemon and cinnamon in my back tea. I guess whatever works for any of us. It has certainly helped me. Given the reports i am surprised more people dont mention it.

I'd never even heard of it till you first mentioned it. I've now looked it up and it does seem to have magical blood sugar lowering properties.

Well I have been naughty tonight. We had a Chicken Byryani and yoghurt followed by Apple Crumble. It just felt sO right....like a blooming teenage romance. But seemingly no consequences......
Just look at the numbers;
6.5 pre dinner 7.0 2 hours later
After Apple Crumble and custard 1.5 hours later 6.5
I don't understand it but maybe just maybe something functioning a bit better.

That's cool as I just Luvs byriani, just so full of flavours. I was talking to one of the staff at the local in paignton we use for special occasions, he was saying that if you feel like or have a cold it's one of the best things to have due to all the spices.
I been a bit bit wary of having it cause of all the rice, but thinks will give it a bashing next time. Hehe.

Love the photos but suspect that it is the sort of scenery I would appreciate best from the other side of my computer screen.

Looks stunningly beautiful but terribly cold!
Actually only about -5C - not too bad really. The frost is due to icefog - very moist, cold air.

I guess everything is relative!

Where I live, we think it's cold if it goes anywhere near 10c. Just too soft I suppose!

We do have to put up with 40c in the summer though!

6.7 this morning which is the highest fasting number I ever see. I'm not sure why as I was not immoderate in my eating last night. I did wake up an hour or more later than usual this morning. However, after breakfast and an hour at the dog park I was down to 4.3 so I guess things are back to normal.

Good luck Paul. It is the first time my numbers remained low after rice. Usually they were going through the roof. You will just have to see if it works for you. We use Basmati rice its lower GI index. Good luck and enjoy.

I've heard great things about Serrapeptase especially for lungs - gets rid of all the gunk. originates from the enzyme used by silkworms to bread down their hard cocoon. Said not to impact on any meds

Not on any meds.. I may have to ask when I have my next diabetic review with GP if I don't pick up soon. When I wake in the morning I feel like I've done ten rounds with Ali during the the night,

Snap. But I suffer with Polymyalgia. Came off steroids last May after taking them for six years as my surgeon wouldn't operate whilst I was taking them. As I am having knee replacement number two in March of next year, declined to go back on Prednisolone again, but some mornings I hurt so much, I literally have to roll out of bed.

Was told years ago that the Polymyalgia would burn out. Still waiting.

These ailments are the pits. Today I feel like someone is giving me chinese burns on my arms legs and chest..the damp and cold combo is just making it so much worse. I think I need to move abroad for the winter.
