I've just received my blood glucose monitor and I've yet to try it (still reading the literature) but I was wondering how others dispose of the lancets and test strips once used.

My strips come in a tub so when I open a new one I put the used strips in the old tub, same with lancets, as I don't change them as often as I should

I collected a yellow sharps box from my surgery for mine, although it is quite big. Still trying to find a smaller one. The nurse suggested I ask at local pharmacies. I would like a small container as soon going on holiday and the container I have would take up a lot of my hand luggage space.

Hi I dispose of mine in a sharps box,you can get these free from your local council, they also collect it and replace you with a new one once full.

Lancets go into a sharps bin that is emptied any any doctor or pharmacy, they trade you an empty one for your full one!

Test strips i just through in the garbage, i don't know why they would require any specific disposal method after being used.
