How many of you actually carry your monitors around with you?

Just wondering, that's all. I've often wondered if I should or not but when I go for a walk I'm only ever 20 minutes (fast walk speed) from home, so don't really feel the need to carry it around. When would it become useful to have it with me?

I'm a type 1 and don't carry one around with me for walks up to an hour, anything over that and I do, as a diet controlled type 2 I wouldn't imagine you need to carry one round with you Adrian.

I'm on Insulin, Type 1, so I do take a monitor with me for work, or caring for my elderly dad, day's out, a couple of hours at the theatre, but not on a shortest walk.

I'm type 1 so it's second nature to carry it around with me.

I never take mine out and about. No need to as I'm not on meds and unlikely to hypo. I also never take it with me if I'm eating out, but I do test as soon as I get home. II do take it on holiday with me though.

It will not be coming out of its case on Christmas Day after my fasting reading, until bedtime (if I dare)

Yup, all the time.

Even put it in my pocket when I went out to mow the lawn earlier. An hour of mild-moderate activity. I've had a 2.9 hypo before whilst trimming a hedge.

Type 2: don't carry one around with me unless we are eating out. Then I like to test before and after, so that I can either celebrate my self control, or mourn my greed. ;)

I do carry a 9bar with me at all times though - am VERY familiar with my personal hypo signs, so don't need a meter for that - unless I want to number crunch for my spread sheet. Lol

Type 1 and I have multiple monitors in multiple places plus take one on my person as well.

Thanks everyone for your replies.....................mixed views as they are.:D So my next question is then..........I've been reading about this "HYPO" thingamabob, and how you sometimes get them. Can someone explain to me please what a HYPO actually is and what are the symptoms.

Thpe 1. Tester gors everywhere with me, even having its own space on side of huge bed for testing during night.

When my hubby proposed 20 years ago.. It was "take me, take my dishwasher.. Non negotiable" now its "take me, take my meter, my spare sets, cartridges, batteries and tubes".

Now there's a vision........................"How was it for you darling, did you feel the earth move?" "NO, but I did get a reading of 5.4":D

Only take mine out if I will be staying all day and most of the evening.
Other than that,I keep it at home.

My internet was playing up for the last couple of days. Seems like I could get on here, read the posts but as soon as I wanted to answer, t'internet went down again.

As a LADA I carry my insulin around with me if I'm away for meals, but have multiple meters including a vital one in the car. I never have one with me if travelling around during the day as my BS is quite predictable.

One in my handbag at all times .
Simply grab my bag when off out shops travelling etc
Insulin levemir dependent so need check levels pre-driving my car .

If shortish walk - nope - only carry a mini kiddies pack of
jelly babies in my pocket !
