This is one for @Brunneria,
My eldest received a very old and wonderful gift off his brother at Christmas .
It is a two volume leather bound books on the pictorial history of the Second World War.
They were printed in 1951. I'm no expert but I believe they must have some value.
They certainly have for me!
The reason behind this is because as being a bit of a history buff and as a child wanting to know all about the war, especially where and what my father did during the conflict. (He was a Chindit, fighting in Burma).
And because my dad would never discuss what he did, I had books to help me and you can guess where this is going!
Yes, the same two volume set!
But, what's more weird is I actually do believe it's the same set we had when I was a nipper!
There is a crease in the page about the pages which tell the Burma campaign, as I remember it!
It has been a big talking point in the family. As both my parents have died and my only surviving brother doesn't know. We reckon my mum sold them when my dad passed.
My son found them when gift hunting in the market by us. How weird is that?
