8.1 mmol/l. Can't complain much. Early this year used to be more like 18-22 mmol/l and that is bad.

6.7 today. Combination of very long fast and not taking my Metformin. I have the sr version to take but am still suffering slightly the issues I was having with the ordinary version so having a short break.

... and from me, 3 hours and 7 minutes B4 OZ 2015, I REALLY wish you well BT. You've been absolutely fantastic to me and I will NEVER forget it:)

Enjoy your 37th :);)

Awww thank you Mike. (blush) We are ALL fantastic.

37th? I wish

Happy New Year Mike, you will see 2015 well before most of us!

A naughty 6.6 not concerned since I know precisely what has caused this jump from my normal 5's.

Tomorrow everything will be back to normal (I hope), just this evening to get over.

Have a good New Year's Eve and a better 2015.

Is it your birthday lunch? If so have a wonderful day. If not, still have a wonderful day. You are always so willing to help on here. Xxx

Rule #1 in OZ - NEVER forget a mate
Rule #2 in OZ - Lie about their age (even if you know what it is :))
Rule #3 (in my world at least) - Some wait to talk, others wait to listen. Beware where you fall :)

Have a great 27th :)

Ethyl, sometimes it can take a few days before you see the positive results when changing meds. IMHO, sr metformin is definitely the better option. Hope it works for you.

Happy birthday Bluetit, it is my sister's and her daughter's birthday too. Rumour on the grapevine is it is your big 21st birthday-bash today lol...

7.6 this morning, don't know why it's so high in the mornings but it is always high.
Welcome to the thread aka madhouse. Search for Dawn Phenomenon and liver dumps on.main site. Liver often "helps out" overnight if it deems your blood sugar has dropped too low. Does depend in what meds you are taking I believe but I'm not on any. Hope this helps. It IS the hardest part to control. A couple if posters in this thread have been experimenting wth evening exercise if you go back a few pages @miked

6.6 this morning after a rough night. Had asthma attack at 3 am and have struggled to get back to sleep:-(. Thanks for your lovely messages guys:-). @Stable Jan you did mention sterappease but asthma nurse says not to use it because of other meds i am on.
That's strange as it isn't supposed to affect ANY meds being that it only interacts with biological "****" (excuse the word) in the body

I am still looking around the living room for my liver, it has dumped itself..it not like my diabetic body no more (sniff) lol

Good morning... Do infections and colds, etc. affect your readings very much then? I have been in three different time zones in two weeks and my readings are higher in the mornings first thing, but, after meals pretty much the same... is that normal? I'm such a duffer at all this even though I keep researching it when I have time...
No such thing as "duffer" in this thread. We're all learning all the time. It's just there's stuff you don't know yet

:hilarious: I'm getting younger with every post on here! Thank you Eddie. And happy birthday to your sister and her daughter - how did your sister manage to arrange that? Lol

Morning All!

I'm celebrating :) 6.2 this morning.

I haven't been doing much fasting testing lately. It is usually higher than this - largely though my own absent minded ness. Firstly, I forget to snaffle a Brazil nut on waking (I have the attention span of an enfeebled gnat, and the bathroom always seems more pressing somehow ), then I forget to test, because of squeaking puppy, cross legged older dog, work scheduling, etc. plus my default routine in the mornings has never allowed a test regime to be incorporated. Maybe I'll try to leave the meter in the bathroom...

So I'm going to try for a bit more consistency, now that Xmas is a mere memory - pls note, I'm not trying for any of that resolution nonsense!

Hopefully see you tomorrow.
