Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Most of you had good readings today. Mine weren't. Trending upwards again. :banghead:

Bedtime 5.7 (average 5.2)
Fasting 5.9 (average 5.5)

Have you been hitting the cheese/cream again? (Wasn't that a potential culprit last time?)

:hilarious: Yes, it was, but last night I hit the liver and bacon, with far too much of both probably! So that most likely explains it. Note to self, cut down the protein.

..... Or portion size? I know I can sometimes really put it away!

Yes, portion size of my protein is a problem. I've bought my piece of steak for tomorrow night and it is so small it was a shame to take it away from its mother. :( Loads of extra mushrooms to make up for it methinks.

Why? What were you before dinner? Looks to me like an excellent reading at 1 hour. Are you being too hard on yourself again?
Nope BT ..... just limited exercise due the heat ... only 10 long laps pre dinner and went to bed at 5.7

This morning 6.2 and that's down to no exercise post dinner IMHO ... but it was a REALLY hot night

Morning all, 6.2 this morning. I did go to the pool yesterday and did 20 laps of a kind of walk, bounce, run, breast stroke thing. Came home and had gone from the 6.7 to 5.4. Then went to the mall, Ross and I took Olivia and her friend there for a couple of hours. More walking. Had a kebab plate (chicken and lamb with lettuce, tomato, tabouli and yogurt) which was yummy. My pre-dinner last night was 4.7 and 2 hours post 5.4.

My knees are a bit sore today, but my mobility is much better, plus I am losing more weight. Sounds like thunder outside, so probably no pool today, but I have to go grocery shopping today, so might drive to a shopping centre that I can walk around in.

Have a great day!

Why you been running so high lately Pav ?

I don't really know @eddie1968. It could be due to the type of oats I have been using as I have just finished a box of Scotts ordinary porridge and started a box of jumbo oats - these seem to have less of an effect on my bg. Oddly enough, I was verging on a hypo after tea today so it seems my bg's are swinging about a bit. I've also been using double double cream, so maybe that? Either way, once I have finished this box of porridge I'm going to give them a miss for a bit and get back to experimenting with different breakfasts again. I'm also going to try to keep my carbs at no more than 50 a day as I need to lose weight drastically. :-)
Thanks for asking btw!

Ah Pav looks like the oats could be the problem, I get spikes with certain porridge and cereals so I experiment too. I have actually bucked the trend and have lost weight on insulin and kept my weight stable without too much effort. And btw Happy Noo Year lol !

Well, up early as I slept yonks yesterday, been easily tired and have hypersomnia so I can sleep for Britain. Don't know the cause but my sugars have been okay for a while so I don't think it is that. 6.3 mmol/l on this chilly dark morning.

105 right now (1715 AEDST) Eddie and massive cool change about to blow through. About 30 minutes it's due. Will drop 20 degrees really quickly.

I used to have days of ice cream and beer. No exercise as just too draining mate :)

Not a very good start to the year. I hope they let you out soon and you get better. Hospital food raises the BS and tastes foul too. ;)
