Injecting through clothes

How do people even know they've put the needle in far enough when injecting through clothes? I have to look to make sure the needle is in fully - it's only 4mm to begin with so if it's not in fully, the insulin will end up on the surface instead of under the skin. Putting aside the issues with infections and blunt needles, I'd be worried I hadn't got my full dose of insulin.

Sometimes needs must, not something I would advocate, but at times it had to be done.

tbh, I only injected through t shirt using 5mm needles. 4mm needles are very thin and short so will most likely bend
 
I'd never do it....I couldn't care less what people think so I just inject in my stomach...lift my top up show off me wobbly bits (lol) and get it over with or if I really had to then I'd inject in my arm!! The odds of seeing those people around me again were/are very low!!....Obviously I do not inject anymore as I am on the pump but even so....I still don't care...I've changed a set at a bus stop...

I sometimes inject through clothing. Biggest pain is bloodstains on shirts...re comments on non sterile clothes - well skin isn't sterile (alcohol swipes debatable) either, so probably the least of anyone's issues? Never had any sign of inflammation or other problems. Bruising for me occurs more when directly into skin but that's most likely a symptom of where I inject.

But concern on blunting needles sounds by far the strongest reason to avoid injecting through clothes. Not an issue I would lose sleep over (I use 6mm). A personal choice?
 
Tbh it's not something that I would ever have dreamed about people doing until I started using this forum.

After 26 years of being T1 I'm not sure I could change my mindset enough to bring myself to do it. I just sit at the dinner table flash my belly to the world and stab away ;)

I've done it through tights, no need with holdups but only a couple of times in 30years. Used to just pull down waist of trousers abit and inject in bum....

Always made sure and still make sure I have lovely knickers though in case they are seen! If these guys can wear their trousers down to their knees then I can show a bit of knicker if needed...I have got a nice bum though!!

Aaaawwww.... Have seen some extra J Lo padded knickers for sale. I hot the same needed for my boobs!!! I'd prefer just a little of my gorgeous bum to go upward and frontward!! -lol:))

Sorry.. Took conversation off course again!! New years resolution didn't last very long!! Trying to keep postings on course.. Not veering them off!!
