I think it's time to go back to your GP . Or even turn up at A and E as you won't be doing yourself any good running at those sort of levels and with ketones.

it all started when l packed up smoking it trigered something in me

You can't become type 1 from being type 2 - the former is an auto immune disorder where the body attacks its own beta cells - but you can end up insulin dependent as a type 2 when and if your remaining beta cells give up the ghost. Your medication obviously isn't working well enough to lower levels so I'd suggest an appointment as soon as possible with your diabetic health team. Certainly ring and ask to speak to someone tomorrow as levels like that aren't to be ignored.
As an aside what do you eat usually? I'm wondering if you are eating more carbs having given up smoking.

l had a hepatology appointment at the royal free the doctor said he is writing to my gp to adjust my medication. im waiting to hear from my gp . my diet isnt perfect but not to bad l dont use sugar or eat sweet things but was using to much salt but have stoped that. lm making a big effort to eat wisely and drink plenty water l have also had 3 mini strokes my right arm is very weak and clumsy

I'd be ringing up and seeing what GP is doing re medication changes.
Also , it's not just sweet things we need to avoid - things like rice, bread, pasta, spuds etc all raise BS levels. Do you test after meals to see what effect food is having ? Have a look at the Low carb forum - there's a pinned post on low carbing for beginners which goes a long way to explaining all of this.

Hi Patrick, and welcome!

What do you eat during a typical day? Sometimes what we think is a good diet has things in it that don't work for diabetics...

my blood sugars were 19.9 this morning
Welcome Patrick. How long have you been diagnosed? Like the others said I would be contacting your gp and asking for him to contact the specialist for his recommendations.

Are low carbing or have you just cut sugar from your diet? As others have said it would be good to know what you eat in a typical day. Sometimes others with diabetes can spot a problem food for you and provide great help.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Well good morning from sunny (with a shower or two) Brisbane in Australia. I woke early this morning with leg cramps, went to the loo and then back to bed. I did not test. I went back to sleep and got up at 11am, my reading was 6.4. Having a nice cup of tea now courtesy of MrV and contemplating breakfast/brunch. Today starts my last week of holidays.

7,0 mmol

My first count for 2015!

Weight back the wrong site of 90kg at 90,2 kg.

It was a great holiday though! Loved Dubai!

Back home now, back to work today and back to normal routine, refreshed and reinvigorated from short break.

Hope everyone enjoyed their New Year's Eve and is having a good New Year.

I will need to catch up with the many posts I have missed later.

Pavlos

9.2 mmol/l. Still feeling unwell but an improvement on yesterday. Day 3 of antibiotics and drinking plenty fluids. Took some painkillers and ate something before injection. Going back to bed for a lay down, still tired.
