I have type 1 diabetes and was only diagnosed just over a year ago at the age of 32. I have recently found out I have a kidney infection and I am taking antibiotics.
My blood sugar control is usually pretty good but it has been all over the place the last few days. I know infections can cause blood sugar levels to rise but should I keep injecting corrective insulin as well as my usual injections, my readings have been 13 mmol or over today and I can't seem to lower it?! Anybody got any advice for me please as my doctor hasn't been very helpful and this is all still pretty new to me!
