Hi all, just been for my 1st dietician appointment only to find out that it wasn't the dietician I was seeing but the diabetic nurse instead. I see the dietician next week now.
So, while here with the nurse, I had my urine sample tested.................
No keytones
No glucose
No protein

My weight was 12 stone 8lbs (80kgs)

Blood pressure absolutely perfect

She found my Blood sugar levels charts amazing and had no problem whatsoever with my diet and how I'm controlling it.
She took a blood sample and will tell me next week what my Hb results are.

All in all a good result. I'm well pleased with it.:D

Good stuff Adrian. My dietician though constantly bangs on about the essentials of carbs though.

Way to go adrian 207, pleased at your readings and your good control::))

Very nice. What is your diet?
Basically, as least carbs as possible.
1/4 pounder burger with no carbs, lettuce and yoghurt with cayenne pepper mixed together, squirt of lemon on burgers and fried onions
chicken breasts diced with 1/3 jar of low carb curry sauce and loads of mixed veg. No rice, no added potatoes, no chips. Just chicken veg curry.
Aldi Bratwurst (2g carbs) + 2 fried or boiled eggs and some shredded lettuce
Of course bacon and eggs (eggs done every which way)
Omelettes with either cheese, bacon, salami, peppers filling. or all the fillings at once
sometimes I cheat by adding 1/4 of a pkt of instant mash to an odd meal (yes I know there are carbs in mash but hey a little treat now and then)
I could go on and on:D
Ok just one more then.......................I eat a few walnut halves at night while watching tele.
I also walk about 4 miles a day, everyday or if it's raining I do an hour on the exercise bike.

Well done Adrian!

I eat very similar to you!

If Rovers get back in league 1, I might take you up on that!

Or I get permission of my GP to see my consultant who is moving to Manchester!

You never know.

Love an Indian. Low carb of course!

Thank you everyone for your replies. greatly appreciated:happy:

Great review, you must have a good DN most of them like to think they are in charge of our diabetese. Mine objected at first to the diet I chose and which has helped me lose weight and inches but she did do a turn round when she saw the results. Well done you

That's why I always keep the door of the room I'm in behind me. That way if they try to take over, I can turn round and walk straight out.:D

I would watch that dietician next week too, mine told me I could still have 1 biscuit with a cuppa! I have 6 teas per day so 6 biscuits!!! I do only drink black sugar free tea and do realise she meant 1 biscuit per day but I wonder how many people take it literally ha

I've found that the good lab and weight loss results I'm getting go a long way to smoothing things over. My last visit we went over that stuff before I told her about my diet. I think she is warming up to a LCHF diet. At least she doesn't think I'm completely crazy any more - I hope.

Ha ha ha, i'll be thinking of that while I'm in with her now.:D
