The chia pudding is very nice! Funny texture, but very tasty. Not sure I made it right, but I enjoyed it. Made mine with

2 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp coconut milk powder
1 tsp cocoa powder
0.5 tsp truvia
0.75 cup of water
Few drops of banana essence

Divided into 2 glasses and put in the fridge of 4 hours so far. Thanks to whoever started talking about it :D

In other news...I got unsalted Kerrygold this evening in Sainsburys. Had given up actively looking for it so am pleased to have stumbled upon it.

My chia may arrive soon.
I'll make some taramasalata with it.
Well, I can't let you all snaffle new stuff and leave me behind! ;)

Today:

B: green smoothie 500ml (max rise 1.3 at 1 hr)
S: green smoothie 350ml
L: green smoothie 350ml (well, I haven't been able to use my Vitamix for aaaaaggggggeeeeesssssss)
and hummus
D: a cunning combo of cauli cheese, onion bhaji and chicken livers with butter and horseradish. Wasn't sure if these flavours would combine. They did.

I get Maggi coconut milk powder in Tesco. Big yellow box. I use it in korma, cauliflower rice and now chia pud. Lasts for ages.

B: savoury almond muffin and creamy decaf
L: same again
D: Wensleydale and chives soufflé omelette, chocolate

Check up this morning - nursie was pleased with my weight loss and BP, but frustrated with my invisible veins. She got there in the end.

My veins seem to mysteriously disappear too. A little tip - my nurse has said that next time I should try just relaxing my whole arm and let it hang by my side while in waiting area. Normally I "pump" my fist (clearly doesn't work) so I am hoping a different approach will help me next time - may help you too. And water water water of course. And some more water!

Forgive me friends. For I have sinned! Was out for a coffee with a friend and I succumbed to a rye and pumpkin bread roll with pastrami and horseradish and salad. It was so so lovely and all the better because I hadn't touched bread for so long. An hour later just 1 unit rise. But I bet it shows up later....

If it was a really dark rye, you may get away with it. I'd be interested to know where your numbers get to.

I think it was Amoy coconut milk. It did seem to improve in taste after leaving it for a day. I'll try again, and experiment with different brands. What brand do you buy?
We have a lot of ethnic shops here in Bahrain, so a wide choice, but I like one called Chef's Choice - it's from Thailand and very good...I have to say I'm not keen on anything from Blue Dragon, or Amoy usually
I love Quorn, it's so versatile . You can make a good chilli and spaghetti bold with it too.
Yes, it's really cool stuff.... can't get it here really - although the sausages turn up occasionally, randomly!

That sounds like the perfect day to me...:)

It's really the sensible way to buy it - You may not want to use a whole can once you open it, but you cannot waste it...

Can you get the smoked roe for it in the UK? My husband looooves it... how clever of you to think of using chia for the bulk instead of breadcrumbs... :) I have a lovely recipe from the chef in a boutique hotel in Athens - it's not pink, either... :) If I can find it I will post it for you...
