Yes, you need to see what your basal insulin is doing to your blood sugar without the influence of Novorapid or food. You need to be in a good range at the start of the test and with no food or Novorapid still active. Obviously if you keep going high during the basal test, then you would need to consider adjusting your basal dose.Does that mean that in order to consider the basal test results that it is better not to correct higher blood sugars?
