Catching up after a few days away. Readings over the past few days have been:

24-Jan 4.9
25-Jan 4.6
26-Jan 5.0
27-Jan 4.3

Hi Kezzer what meter and strips do you use i have got a avia nano meter avia strips made by accu check. It seems ok, got it from the hospital and strips are on repeat from GP
I use a Nexus Glucco RX meter. The strips are around £10 for 50.

5.4 yet again despite the Snickers bar around 2am when dog got me up to go out. Half asleep, hungry and a Snicker bar I'd found lurking in my dried beans box and left on the side, all let to me eating it.....:oops:
Late posting but for me forums have been down since this morning, just came back up short while ago.

@Kezzer4321 if by "dodgy strip" club you are referring to "SD codefree" the be assured that they are listed on the "Electronic drug tariff" as a prescribable strip by the NHS:), and for some T2s it is the alternative to the "No Strip Club":(

Just as well you got the quotes in the right place - "dodgy" strip club could have given entirely the wrong impression :woot:

I Had BBQ steak no sauce , toss salad and side order of pasta salad for dinner this evening , just checked my sugar levels and 7.7 (2 hours after) , , readings have been awesome all day :D
You did well getting 7.7 after having the pasta side salad :) must not have been too big a portion

Thanks CollieBoy, I am already a member of the "no strip club" and pay for my own strips - unfortunately the NHS is not prepared to pay for a meter for me so my comment was made as a joke because of all the complaints about the inaccurate readings. Sorry if you were offended.

5.5 normal fasting for me, still got the shivers, not decided if I will go to work today, may decide to stay at home and try to get rid of whatever I have.

Will try some breakfast and see how I feel.

Have a super day everyone.
Hope you're feeling better soon :doctor:

If your situation is that you cannot get your regular HbA1c test and you can use the entire 10 pack in the time limit then this could be viable.
Thanks
I'd only be doing them @out of interest@ as much as anything. My HbA1c is annual - I was in prediabetic range and year on dropped to normal range. My pre & post prandials show I'm still doing ok so am happy with that

I use Contour Next USB that someone kindly gave me. I must have done ok with it seeing as my HbA1c went down to normal at the last test so I'll stick with mine too - strips not too bad if lucky on eBay

Well I don't know what's going wrong
I had 20g carbs in afternoon yesterday
I came home and tested before dinner at 5.6 which is high as I am normally in 4.8's to 5.0 max
Had chicken soup in dinner made at home not tinned just chicken, double cream butter and onions in it so I think there are hardly any carbs in this
Tested after two hours 6.6
Fasting I first got 7 then retested and its 6.5
On weekend I think in Sunday I tested fasting 6
Had a cup of tea and did a lot of diy at home then before going out for grocery I had a boiled egg but before having that I tested I was 5.8 which was about lunch time.
I came back home did hoovering cleaned house took a shower and tested still 5.7
I had an omlette and two hours later 6
Had dinner no carbs at all and after two hours came at 6.8
I don't know how the he'll my levels have gone so high
I don't think I have any sore throat or anything but I am absolutely creamed with stress at work again since new year but I am still concerned is it coz of that or do I already need more doses of met
Oh, dear, not such a good day for you then. Hope today's results are better but I'm betting your stress levels are a big part to play in it. an't say re the meds as I don't use them
