Is that the Clitheroe side or the other?I'm on the other side of Pendle, which looms up at me from my window, dark, forbidding and mysterious. It's covered with snow at the moment and looks less gloomy than normal.

I can actually tell when I'm in a high B S bracket without testing, cos my face has a funny sort of tingling sensation to it. Hard to explain but I know. I can't tell exactly how high it is, I just know it's high.![]()
i used to go to the Sunday Market that was held at the Cattle Market just off the Dual carriageway. I used to go every Sunday early morning, not to sell, to buy. When I had my pram shops i used to do Gisburn Market, made a mountain of money on there.Clitheroe

I have no sense of my levels whatsoever. I could be high or low or normal and feel exactly the same.
Come down from what?
adrian showed a meter reading of 12.? after eating potatoes ( I'm sure that's what is meant by coming down)

I missed his post. I have been back and seen it, along with Poshtotty's. (My alerts are not working properly so I keep missing posts on busy threads).
I was in the 12's after eating baked beans with a fry up and no other carbs. Normally in the 6's after a meal.
My nurse told me to eat jacket potatoes with baked beans for my lunches, plenty of bread and mushy peas.

Oh yes, I forgot the baked beans. I was told today it was safe for me to eat them. Not for anyone standing down wind of me it isn't - I'm also on 4 metformin a day!![]()
Jeez. I didn't eat 4-6 egg sized spuds before diagnosis and ended up with an HbA1c of 8.6!
That's just reminded me. My dietician also said that if I started eating carbs again like she suggested and I found I was putting weight on that she would ask the GP to put me on higher medication to compensate. I said, that will never happen. I'd rather stick to what I was eating without carbs but I would give her suggestions a go. I'm on 1 metformin 500 2 x a day.Oh yes, I forgot the baked beans. i can manage a 1/3 can of beans with bacon and egg without much of a rise in B S.Phewwwww, but seriously, really ? Baked beans would rise most BS, not all, and with different rise levels, but probably the
majority![]()

Why can't you have them? have I missed that part?I wish I could. I do miss them and they are very good for us generally, other than the BS aspect. I used to love my beans on toast.
