I have just returned from an appointment with a dietician, after being referred by my GP.
Those words strike fear into all right-thinking diabetics!
Here is a good list of studies that can pop the nonsense some of these people come up with.

I would say you cannot present them with a link to the study as from what I understand dieticians think that 'the internet' is just a lot of mumbo jumbo made up by loonies with too much time on their hands.
The best thing to do is just to commit one or 2 studies for each issue to memory; if you say "But that's not what the famous meta-study on saturated fat and cardiovascular disease published in the The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition says?" in response to being told that saturated fat is dangerous you'll put them under real pressure because they either say I haven't heard about that (exposing their ignorance) or they have heard about it and haven't taken in what it is saying (exposing their ignorance).
