Newbie trying Newcastle diet.

Really well thanks it's gotten a lot easier this last week only lost a pound last week but this weeks weigh in lost 4. I think I've been more active now so hopefully next week will break the 10 stone threshold 21 days to go can't wait for the end stocked up my cupboards with some wonderful food :)

Eating anythin would be a feast after 8 weeks. What are you using if you dont mind me asking

Using the shake that weight shakes they are really nice actually especially the chocolate flavours I have given up on veg for the last week or so I got so bored of it. So am now just having salad with pickles eg chillies onions they liven the salad up. Also dropped the 3 shakes down to 2 a day I don't miss the 3rd shake at all

Finished week one today and I've lost 8lbs and 1" from around my belly. Still hard with the hunger, but I'm getting there. My dietician checked my blood test and called me to swap the pulses out for a egg every other day. I am really enjoying the egg. Now I have two tablespoons of pulses one day and a medium egg the next. I feel like the doctors and dietician are really on the ball with what I need to be healthy on the ND. It does have a lot of risks if you don't follow it properly. I don't expect the weight loss to continue at such a high rate and others say the hunger gets better. Here's hoping.

I know what you mean I was delighted when I broke the 14 stone barrier, now 13st 9lbs not been under that for at least 10 years. I'm using little targets like that to keep me on track if I lose another 4lbs I will at the weight I was when I had my daughter 16 years ago. Its been all up from that point on really so quite a big goal for me.

Well done - I broke the 14 stone barrier the weekend as well but I'm doing LCHF so it's as lower process at about 1-2lb per week

Weighed myself this morning 10 stone and a pound next weigh in on Sunday so should be able to do it. I weigh myself twice a week just more for motivation and it breaks the week up so looking forward to the 1st of March when this all ends

I've said it before, there is more than one way to skin a cat. I am looking at LCHF when I come of the ND. Being healthy and having the diabetes under control is all we are all after really. How we do it is up to each of us. Can I ask if you have a partner or family and if they do the LCHF diet with you?

My husband still eats carbs such as brown bread, potatoes and crisps but he only weighs 9 stone so can get away with it!!

Struggling in week two completely stuck to the diet, no cheats at all. I feel hungry everyday, especially in the evening after I have had my veg meal. Got on the scales this morning lost nothing at all. To say I'm gutted is an understatement. Did this happen to any of those of you who have been on the ND before? Also without wanting to go into to much detail, suffering from constipation, which is not helping. Any tips to help.

Thanks, my husband and daughter are going to give a low carb diet a try and I'm happy with that. Daughters weight is fine (then so was mine at 16), but my husband could do with a few pounds off. We will see how it goes.

I didn't do the ND, but ,if you are constipated, drink more water. Your body needs to be well hydrated to cope with the assault you are currently imposing on it.

Thanks, but I don't think its that I am drinking 3ltrs a day as a minimum (measured). I have been told by a friend that slim fast did the same to her. Going to speak to dietician on Monday if it does not sort itself out.

I'd still up it a bit. You have nothing to lose by trying it. I drink more than 3ltrs daily, even when not in the heat.

I lost 9lbs in the first week drink plenty of water. Not had any hunger pangs on the shake the weight shakes they are brilliant and no issue with constipation either 16 days to go thank god
