Being told “Oh go on, one won’t hurt you!”.
Conversely, the food police.
I have just seen on Sky News that the Daily Express for tomorrow (10 Feb 2015) has the front page headline "Fat is Key to Living longer" "previous diet advice was wrong"!

The Daily Mail front page headline is "Butter isn't bad for you after all"

No sh*t Shirl! FINALLY the message is getting through.

I can't tell you more as they only show the headlines. Grab those newspapers tomorrow!

Hmmm better get down the supermarket an buy more butter , cheese an cream ,before the mob hits after the news gets out....an then i'll wake up and it was just a dream .

Not everyone is in agreement on this new review, from today's Daily Mail:

"However, many public health and nutrition scientists criticised the conclusions of the review in the online BMJ journal Open Heart, saying wider evidence at the time and since has justified the advice and heart deaths have fallen dramatically."

Heart deaths may have fallen, but what about heart disease?

"As a result, public health teams have not paid enough attention to other risks, such as carbohydrates, which are believed to be fuelling the current obesity crisis" Sky news article this morning FINALLY!!

Well, they would say that, wouldn't they? They would not admit the stuff they keep telling their patients is wrong!

They too afraid of being taken to court.... However they could phrase their wording to divert people to healthier life style choices, but instrad they keep plying drugs...

I can only hope my DNS has read it but even if she did, she'd disgard it even though she seems stupid enough to read the daily fail or the expressly stupid. On the other hand....

Just listened to the lady gp on bbc morning tv... Still saying that butter is bad. No recognition that dhe was tdlking about toast and butter and the bread would be the worst effect...

I think what the doctor on the TV said was to eat saturated fat in moderation that the research does not say you can eat as much fat as you like without it doing harm , She didn't say butter was bad...she said she likes it spread thinly on toast... just that if you have a couple of slices of toast with butter then don't have to much other saturated fat No she wouldn't say bread was bad because it is not for most people who don't have diabetes

Saw bbc as well. Concentrating on butter rather than bread (toast). Still not got it. Wonder what my DN will say?
Your DN will say exactly what the NHS tell her to say. It will take a decade or more for this kind of paradigm shift to filter down to the shop floor.

Listening to radio 4 and they reported the above re butter and cheese but also that the findings were that carbs should have been discouraged instead!

Dr Rosemary Leonard was interviewed on BBC Breakfast. She said that too much fat will clog up your arteries and that there are many studies supporting this.

So, Dr Leonard has never heard of Dr Kendrick and his book The Great Cholesterol Con and apart from that we are back in the stone age again.
