Fed up with constant high morning levels!

Yes, let's hope so, but a lot of people here have had the same thing and it's got better, so don't worry too much about it. Gaving said that, there's not many things as scary as the thought of losing your sight, it's a wake-up call that can't be ignored!

Was it after you'd lowered your sugar that your eyes went blurry. How long did it take for it to clear? I think this is happening to me and I was frightened I'done damage when my sugar was high.

My eyes went blurry before christmas and it was very irritating, at that time I didn't know I had high blood sugars so I went to have my prescription changed and they doubled it... as soon as I started to get my blood sugar down I immediately saw a slight change towards the better but still blurry eyed, but after a week or so my eyes changed from blurry to be fine at distance but unable to focus from close by (I couldn't read my phone at a normal distance for example so I had to extend my arm as far as possible to be able to read my texts. I went back to the opticians and got changed the prescription again thinking I damaged my eyes, but all the tests were fine so they told me that my eyesight might improve as my blood sugar was normalized. This all happened within a month and a half but I have managed to bring my BG down from 24.6 to 4 - 5 in one month with extremely low carb dieting, so I am not sure how would it be for you.

really frightening indeed

Boiled egg first thing and in bed, I also want to beat the dp, but, I just could not face a cold boiled egg. But what ever floats your boat.
Interesting - I've been watching some of the Diabetes Summit interviews and Prof Roy Taylor discusses dawn phenomenon and second meal effect - his advice was to eat a protein snack on waking, then eat breakfast a couple of hours later. A boiled egg was mentioned as "perfect' for the job ;)
