Hope you don't mind me asking but what's made you want to go on Forxiga?

Ive been on it for about 2 months.
I don't mind at all :) I was on Metformin for 5 years and it made me ill, so eventually the consultant took me off it. I am also on Sitagliptin and want to come off that too, and I've also read that Forxiga helps with weight loss, which I am struggling with. My DSN also suggested it. Hope that helps! :) How have you found being on it?

still sounds horrible having butter in coffee.......:yuck:

The thing I've found is that I am eating really weird things that really don't fit with the English style of eating such as cheese and tomatoes for brekkie, or yoghurt and cream. Reading the posts on here and going lchf has encouraged me to try things I would not have considered before. I've even started eating eggs again, which I have actively avoided for years and I'm enjoying my coffee with cream (perhaps a bit too much!) after drinking it black for as long as I can remember :)

Me too. Though my mum gets something similar and there seems no rhyme or reason to it. I blame the Metformin myself as it started on that and I think it's just set it off. I had something like it as a kid and was of school for a few weeks as I couldn't bear clothes touching me. That was ok at 6 but not sure I'd get away running round naked these days.
Reading this has just reminded me that I haven't taken my meds tonight.:( Going getting them now.

Hi @Tweetypie what veg did you use to make the salmon fishcakes please?
Hi @HA3 ,

I used this recipe - http://allrecipes.com/recipe/grandmas-famous-salmon-cakes/ but used spring onion instead of normal onion. I also cheated a bit and added some ground almonds as the mix was quite wet, patting some on the outside also to give a bit of a crust

I served with some leftover carrot and suede, green beans and spinach and tartare sauce

Hehe just realised I have become a senior from a regular! :D

well got up this morning and realised after all my birthday celebrations yesterday I hadnt prepared lunch for work -oops! No soup or breakfast balls left in freezer:(. This could be dangerous as quite often get carb cravings the day after i have drank alcohol.
Had my normall allbran for breakfast but couldnt offset the carbs with my normal boiled egg. Then late morning was starving (as expected) but instead of craving junk food like normal i was craving chicken :singing: yes chicken! What a result. Trotted down to Asda and bought a hot half roast chicken:hungry:. Also got a small pot of raita they do in their indian section-used to love it, about 4g carbs but couldnt eat it all as it was too sweet! Wow don't our tastebuds change :hilarious:. Dinner was shepherds pie with cauli mash. Small bar of dark choc for later. Very good day! x
Very well done :):)

Reading all this stuff about coconuts has just put me in the mood for a Chicken Korma curry............home made of course. Well when I say home made, I mean 1/3 jar of Korma sauce and 2 chicken breasts and some sort of veg on the side.:D
We'll assuming you did MAKE it at HOME ergo "home made"

I'm the same with the solid coconut fat. I started using the dregs in the jar as a moisturiser on my feet. It's rather strange. I used to be famous for my smelly feet, now they smell rather like digestive biscuits!
Who's going to be nibbling on your big toe then ;) now they smell good enuf to eat :(

I'm still on metformin ... Not sure if I still should be tho!
I was on sitagliptin for a few weeks, it made me very ill... Too ill that I nearly ended up in hospital :(

I've been on Forxiga since December 2014 and could see a reduction in blood sugars from day 1 :)
Lost a few pounds, not a lot, about 1/2 stone :) Clothes are quite loose... In fact I'm pleasantly surprised I can now wear dresses that were a wee bit snug before :joyful:
Haven't had any unpleasant side effects that the DN mentioned, such as urinary tract infections. :)
My tip is ... Drink lots and lots of water and I drink ocean spray low sugar cranberry juice, everyday!

Can't think of anything else atm but please let me know when you're going to start on Forxiga ... And I really hope it works for you :)

I know a couple of other people on here who have been on Forxiga and achieved fantastic results, much much better than mine!
