Anyone have a tried and tested low carb recipe? I ordered some Cauldron Foods Falafel and although they're very nice they are very small and 12 carbs each, so hoping to be able to make some myself. I've found the caulie one on here but don't really fancy it. And please, preferably not an american recipe as I never know what a cup, or half a cup of something is

Falafel balls as a replacement meatball in meatball recipes?

Doesn't it depend on what you are measuring? I understood the conversion is different for each type of food. eg butter is 240g per cup, flour is 120g. It is very complicated.

This is why i don't like American recipes. far easier to stick to our own and then we know exactly what everything is ;)

Yes it's a volume (cups) to weight (g) conversion. I just keep a set of cups measures in my cook-box

It's not easier though if you are struggling to find a falafel recipe lol

There are so many LC recipes coming out of America compared to the UK. I caved in months ago and bought a set of cups. Makes life easier :)

(Btw, the Cauldrons are 12.5 g for two, not each)

Yes I knew that, I checked before I bought them. Thankyou for pointing out my senior moment above! :wacky::p

And have ordered some measuring cups from Ebay, How the heck do they measure half a cup of butter - chop it into cubes and squash it down in the cup? <grumble what's wrong with ounces grumble > :grumpy:

Half cup=125 ml
100 ml of butter=95 grams

So half a cup of butter is something like 120 grams?

It's easy really. You seem to want falafel recipes more than the authors want ounces.

You're going to have to get to grips with the cups.

Cups, ml, grams, ozs, too bloody complicated. Think I'll stick to Cauldron falafels!:D
I recommend you give a second thought to the cauliflower falafels. I have tried them and can honestly say that they don't taste cauliflowery. The spices override the cauli. Good luck :)

Falafels are made from ground Chic Peas so you could make your own and add chillie flake and a sprinkle of cumin if you like them spicy

Main problem is that the majority of these recipes ARE Americans and Americans sometimes have problems conceiving that there is anything outside America (except perhaps Mexico to the south and Canada to the north!)
