I miss the seemingly endless days of summer spent playing at Cresswell beach in the childhood days, before i discovered self consciousness, depression, my ex husband and diabetes!! Oh and Galaxy Counters, white packet with a giraffe on.

I had my skates for christmas once , never could balance on them though ...

And so much warmer back then too. Dad would come in from night shift, mam would have prepared a picnic the night before and we'd be off before 8am and hes sleep on the dunes while our mam kept an eye on us. Life seemed so simple then

Mum got the baccon and cheese from David Greggs, that was opposite side of the high street

Skates, lucky you. I was the youngest of 6 kids, lots of hand me downs, but no skates. ;-)

Chelsea Girl in the 1970's, I yearned for clothes from there but my Mum always used to say she'd make me something on the sewing machine .

Toffee Treets in a blue packet with white writing, nearly pulled my teeth out but they were good.

Mini skirts.

My sister and I made our own summer dresses, 3 yards of material bought at Sherries from the high street. If it was a dress for a special occasion we would line the dress.
