Hello just keeping you informed on the blood levels 5.2 this morning before I ate or drank anything.
I was just reading the blog and at one place you say you fried vegetables. Are you allowed to have fried vegetables at all?
Also what shake are you using.
Keep at it @The little white hen you are so close now to finishing it
@Flashtash2014 how are you keeping up with your carbs and BS
I should also point out, I made a mistake at the start of the diet and added carrots to a soup. Carrots or not on my list of allowed veg. However, I don't think one mistake made a lots of difference. I have lost 8lbs in the first week and around 3lbs every week after. I have had no major issues and I'm feel great. Hope that helps.
well my doc has thrown the theory out of the window for ND, he's never heard of it and is not interested in knowing anything about it either. I am only following the forum and based on all the info I get I will start the diet and take it one week at a time and if I think I cant progress it then might stop but I Want to give it a shot.
I have checked optifast meal replacements and there nutrition info is quite close to shake that weight. Tesco and Asda's do there version too but I think there is more calories and more carbs in them

Hi Brettsza been ok first week off the diet have put on about 5lbs only to be expected raising my carb intake as I am running first thing in the mornings between 3-5 miles my BG have slightly increased but still within the non diabetic ranges before and after meals. So not too concerned but I feel I need too monitory weight a lot closely so weighing twice a day everyday. Had a couple of slight blips on my BG reading but as I say not too worried by that.I was just reading the blog and at one place you say you fried vegetables. 7.5 after eating considering I was in the low 5s or 6s before and after meals think it might have been some porridge I had

Yeah I realised it @vit90The theory behind the diet involves limiting external energy supply to 800 calories a day for the duration of the diet. As long as the fried vegetables keeps the daily carb count to quota she should be fine. Very little calories or carbs in veg.
Yeah I realised it @vit90
I saw your thread of no hunger at all, hope you eating a bit.
Indeed I am; 300 calorie avocado, kale, spinach, celery and olive oil smoothie for lunch. Only my second but they are getting better as I tinker with the ingredients (I added cider vinegar, Worcester sauce, salt and pepper). I couldn't have done this diet using slimming powders, no way!
Hi Vit
The 'shake powder' I'm using isn't 'slimming powder' per se, its more a fitness mix. I mix 45 grams with 400 ml of bottled water.
This gives me (per shake) :
177 kcal
2.3gr fat, of which 1gr is saturates
5.9gr carbs of which 2.4 gr are sugars
3.2gr fibre
35 gr protein
0.16gr salt
I occasionally add more fibre to bring it up to 6-8 gr per shake
Takes about 30 seconds to blend to a slightly thinner consistency of a McDonalds milkshake and tastes very 'clean' with no powdery taste
I'm on strawberry, usually, sometimes chocolate![]()
I am sure it works for you and it sounds very well thought out although over 100g a day of protein is probably too much if you wanted ideal nutrition for ketosis from what I have read although ketosis may not be your goal of course.
For me I'd just get bored with it so quickly. I also like cookingBut that's me.
Yep Breetsza I made a few tubs of home made curry and freezed them along with some chappatis too having one tonight in fact had normal basmati rice too but have discovered slim rice from Holland and barret tastes just like normal rice but with vertically no calories and very little carbs too. Breadwise too scared to try that for the time being but can't put down the tub of meridian peanut butter which is just peanuts and nothing else added great for energy release for the morning run@Flashtash2014 I think you will have to wait for an a1c to confirm everything
Odd high readings will be there but average would tell exactly how everything has worked. Have you started on some curries and rice. I miss rice and chapatis most as never had sweet tooth but did have rice and chapatis as carbs.
