Thanks for that I'm actually a nursing assistant and a very good one at that . I care and look after people with a wide variey of needs and I can assure you that I have not encouraged anyone under my care to eat **** ! the fact that I do is my own problem . And unless u intended to amuse with ur remarks I actually found them highly y offensive !
I'm sure it wasn't meant to offend. It sounded to me as a little tongue in cheek humour. With stresses of keeping bs under control at times many of us have developed an "if you don't laugh you'll cry" mentality to keep us sane.....

My intention was to amuse, if you sensibilities have been offended please know that it was not my intention.
Maybe I was being over sensitive . I should perhaps have said that MOST of us are here because of our lifestyles and maybe that also includes u I don't know. But like I say my health problems are of my own making and I have never inflicted them on anyone either in my work or my children .And on a final note if u think I'm a poor role model u should perhaps look at many health care workers , most one the ones I work with are either overweight as I myself am ) smoke and take very little exercise .Now I sound like i'm on a mad rant :(. Anyway I'm off now to pig out cos i'm upset ;)

Ouch - 6.2 this morning. Should really have retested but worried I won't have enough strips for my trip next week although I may visit a local supplier if I have time. This was a reading after my morning shower and I note that others report higher numbers after a shower. I normally test before showering.
Could well be the reason. I always test at the same point in my morning routine. Readings sometimes, but not always, a but higher if I've forgotten until later....

Wow there are some hormones raging on here today!!

Well my horrible trend of liver dumping continues....

5.6 before bed
8.0 fasting

This morning I found I had run out of my crustless quiches for breakfast - shock horror - I guess this cold is muddling my brain. So I had prawns and seafood sauce with a bit of LC cake (not together I hasten to add). But didn't get to eat anything until I arrived at work....needless to say my liver kicked back even more... :(

6.7 fasting  from a cloudy Qatar morning... 5.9 last night, two hours post - I ate about 8 french fries with my filet steak and veg... the first time in five months - not that they were that good, but I needed to see if I can add some carbs now... obviously I need to test by adding them at lunch time as @AndBreathe says not to eat carbs first thing in the morning if possible... I love quinoa and haven't eaten it for 5 months, so maybe a quinoa salad at lunchtime is the way forward... crumbs, it gets complicated.. :)
I eat some carbs at breakfast time though I've tested my limit...I do think as its quinoa you enjoy it is worth trying. Mayb half what used to be your usual portion at first. Our tolerance are all so very different I believe It's best to try and test for yourself

I don't seem to get the liver dumps.
Why?

What do you put in your coffee, butter or the MCT oil?
Hola vit90

Both! There's loads of different variations out there following on from it's 'inventor'. I thought that 2 tablespoons of both was a tad too much originally so just had 2 teaspoons. My goto is now 2 table spoos of grass fed butter and 2 tablespoons of pure coconut oil filtered coffee (caf or decaf) and then blended. You can play around with the ingredients- sweeteners, cream, eggs! But it's got to be blended. "........and enjoy.

Cheers.

Neither did I, even at the beginning, always flat, but I do now. Only half a mmol/l at most, but didn't even get that until this year sometime. (except if my bedtime reading is in the 4's, then it always takes me back to the 5's.) Having said all that, my average overnight rise for the whole of March up to date is just 0.23. This is probably why I am not and never have been a morning person. I don't wake up properly until well after breakfast.

I leveled out my weight loss around Nov-Dec-14 and slowly introduced carbs back into my evening meal, brown rice with some roast potatoes with Sunday Roast dinner... since pulling those to see if I could get my evening BG a bit more under control the weight loss has started again, 0.5 kg every two weeks.... so thought about introducing carbs to breakfast, raw oats to my yogurt and testing and it seems okay.... though I forgot to add them this morning as I'm adding some Chia seeds as well....
it's the weight loss that is worrying me... not got much more to lose....
