2014/15 Football Season

Can I join the Can't Stand Harry Club please?

Oh and QPR...one of my sons and his mates have this season started going to as many grounds as they could. They get photographic evidence at each one. At Loftus Road he got a policeman to take the picture cos he reckoned the fans looked well dodgy.

And this is a bloke who's spent 20 years going to Millwall!

Have been there and worn the t shirt literally! I still coach and help my local youth club with a football team and have done for over twenty years. I have been to Maine Road three times with my local club Rovers.
My team does not get paid a fortune, most of them are on no more than the average wage in this country some less.
Football is now my only sin. I have studied it, practised it, played it, forever debating it, scrutinized it, spent a fortune on it, watch it constantly (now watching league 2 play offs while posting this,) coached it, dreamt of it, travelled the country for it, been angry by it, had some great times by it. It still has a fascination for me.
Tactics, formations, styles, techniques, skills, the banter, the rewards, the joy of watching kids winning and trying their hardest and experiences that you wouldn't want to miss.

Football is not a religion, but it's close, for me. And it's better than fighting wars, as football brings the whole world together on an equal platform.
The problem is these days it's about the top clubs and nobody else!

lol lovely! I really don't like Loftus Road, that's one reason I'm glad to see them go down. Hull and Burnley or Leicester would be good for me too. I've never been to Millwall, one of my sons has a couple of times - can't say I was too happy about it.
 
Millwall ain't bad!
If you go looking for it you will find it!
They are like southern scousers! No offence meant!
In the way they are down to earth and most come from docks and surrounding heavy industry areas.
 
Millwall have just won an award for their family facilities.

It's like a creche down there sometimes. I've gone as a lone female with the youngest and his mates when they were smaller. I introduced one of his little friends to live games when he was about 10. He loved it.
 
Most weekends though I am to be found supporting the youngest team, usually freezing my **** off. They won their league this season but the manager has now said there's no training till they've finished their GCSEs.

I admire those who do so much for kids and I agree it's all about the big clubs. I wasn't meaning everyone who plays the game earns good money but the likes of the big teams. My lad reckons it's in the blood and once there you can't drain it out. We always supported him we just couldn't have the same enthusiasm for it. We did always say he could have had a worse interest and are grateful for the fact it kept him off the street and out of trouble. Well done on what you do, all credit to you

Tranmere likewise, we have family season tickets, dads and lads etc. We have family areas within the stands. We welcome schools on freebies and community based tickets for local disadvantaged.
We are introducing more disabled spectator areas.

Every club has its idiots, sadly they will not go away, and are trying to ruin our beautiful game as are the rich clubs. Sorry @zand that includes the gooners.

Yes I do mean Forest Green. We saw Guiseley play at FGR many seasons ago (FA Cup I think)

Thanks, but it has it's own rewards!
It gives me a thrill to see kids I have coached still playing and giving me time of day when we meet.
I have recommended kids to pro clubs and they have done well.

I suppose the 'Every club has its idiots' refers to LUFC too huh? I feel got at lol
 
We quite often pop along to Welling or Bromley as well.

I love non league, the food is better and cheaper, you can chat to the players and change ends at half time.

Yes me too. 9 years on these young men still say 'hello' if we meet at a match or out shopping. It's so nice.

The food's not better at Forest Green lol. No red meat allowed. :rolleyes:
 
My daughter's fella supports utd.
I have been to watch them on a couple of occasions, when not watching Rovers.
I must admit to a soft spot for them especially this season, when nothing has gone right off the pitch.
Loved it when we beat them a couple of seasons ago tho!
 
So Tranmere will be playing Bromley next season wont they?
 
If they are in the conference next season, then yes!

We have a great following to away matches. To most northern clubs we would take a thousand plus.
To Midlands between 500 and 800, to London and southern clubs between 300 and 500.
That's when we keep losing!!!! Imagine if we we're winning!
