Have just been on their website and ordered a free one to try - thank you @mammamia2006 x
Yes, it displays SD, 7,14,21 day averages and a pie chart as well. Its all in the Report section on the My Data menu. Its just a better meter if you want a bolus wizard. Its downside is that its heavier to carry around and the Aviva teststrip demanding a decent dropleþ of blood whereas the Freestyle Lite strip on the Insulinx doesnt but you will see the difference once you get it. Best to get one through a DSN.I use the Insulinx and that resonates with me @iHs - about having to test each time you want to access the wizard. Does the Accuchek provide good information on things like averages and standard deviations? Currently I have to transfer all my data over to an app on my phone which is a bit of a bore.
Thanks
Dillinger
That does sound like a plus - But what use is that information if you don't have a BG reading ?
I have used the Insulinx but found the Accuchek Expert to be much better as a bolus wizard as with the Insulinx, a bg test will always need to be done to enter the wizard, whereas on the Expert, it doesnt.
@iHs - how did you get your Accuchek Expert? I've just called them up and they say you have to arrange it via your diabetic nurse. Which seems a bit weird. Is that what you did?
Thanks
Dillinger
@iHs
I put in a correction of a 1 unit bolus to the expert meter this morn.
For some reason after 30 mins it had that I had 1.1 unit on board??
How can it do that?
It had no other bolus entered from 9pm previous night.. 11 hoyrs before!!
Yes, I got my Expert meter via the DSN but I was well used to using the Combo meter anyway which is the same as the Expert. Dont know why Accuchek do this, when Abbott dont, especially when people know how to use carb ratios etc.
