Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Not open for further replies.
Are you going to do the fat fast as you said ? Have you started a new thread for it yet? I would like to try it just to maintain my weight, as I feel certain I will pile weight on, just sitting about or walking quite carefully,
Do we need a set menu, or do we make it up as we go along?
I am mooting it as we speak - haven't eaten yet Vs 3 bratwursts in the fridge for supper tonight. Not even worth contemplating how much bratty you could have on a FF.

Sod it - might as well start. Haven't planned it like last time so will just wing it. I'll set up a different thread later (just dossing from work at the mo). Won't be eloquent but then again you don't really need a lot to get going on a Fat Fast, In a nut shell you are limited by the numbers/ratios.

Morning one and all. 5.0 fasting today.

As for the question Moshe. I have to admit I've not ordered anything from this company before. It turned up in an online pharmacy search I performed earlier this year, but I ended up using a different company to place my order as farmaline didn't have the item I wanted in stock. So, I'm afraid I'm unable to personally recommend them. I always use an online review company before buying anything from an unknown source. Having just done so with farmaline! I see their reviews are very mixed. Some excellent blog recommendations, as well as some dodgy reviews. That's a shame. :( But I have an idea! :D

EDIT UPDATE: I've placed a small order with farmaline this morning. I'll report back when my order arrives. Seemed the best way to test out a new company.
Thanks from the heart:-)

Hola @Merrylizard1314

Good thinking - it's not recommended to exercise a great deal on a FF so come join me. I've opened a new thread in Type 2 diabetics. Only problem is I have to somehow fit 35 miles into this week - should be fun!

6.7 at 6 AM
6.3 at 7:55 AM before breakfast of Bacon & Eggs
6.7 at 9:43 AM

No idea why it is so high today

A bit worried last night as bs in am was 8.3, 6.8 before bed but low and behold 6.8 this am! :)

Do they have an internet address or do mail order
Yes various places locally sell the needle drums but they work out cheaper on Ebay as do the strip cassettes....still very expensive which makes them a non starter for me. I will use the Codefree meter and the Fastclix lancet...anything for less painful fingers. I was fine until I opened a new pack of lancets for the Codefree and soon after starting to use them my fingers have become ridiculously painful to the point where I have had to limit how many times I am testing daily to allow them to recover a little. Finding a Fastclix lancet on its own proved a non starter so bought the complete kit to get one. The meter will be a back up for the future should the Codefree fail at any time
Good afternoon @loulou99782 and @Gezzabelle

As I promised I went by the pharmacy from where I purchase my FastClix lancet cartridges, and I asked the pharmacist, Mr Janssen, if they take mail delivery orders through phone and/or email for cartridges and strips, and the answer was positive. The only thing he asked was if the people who may contact him for such services live in the UK, I presume for mailing purposes. You can find them online at:
http://ndchemist.com/
As there are two ND Pharmacies in Birmingham, please be informed that the one I've been using for the past 5 years now, is the one at :
456 College Road, phone number 01213509679.
Besides the email address given on the "Contact Us" tab, Mr. Janssen also gave me:
[email protected]
If you think so, please get in touch and ask about prices, delivery mode etc for the items you want. As a mentioned, I purchased today another 200+4 box of FastClix cartridge lancets, for £10.
Of course, as I said before, you will probably need to discuss prices, delivery mode etc individually.
And as we live in an age of disclosures, I have to mention, that besides purchasing from them for the past 5 years, I am in no way associated with them, I have no interest, nor any other advantage from passing on this information. I just thought to help if possible, as I have received myself so much support on this forum.:-)

Thank you so much for all that information....a great help and very, very good of you to go to such trouble for us :D I will check that all out :)

Thank you MosheBenYehuda. I am feeling really tired after a day of hospital appointments for both me and Dad. Got a quiet day tomorrow just the knitting group in the morning. Going to have an early night so good night all :)

Tuesday 7th July 4.4mmol/l at 6.15am. Ketones 1.7.
Colourful sky this morning when I went out to get some logs.
I am on my own this week- the others have gone to the mountains, which gives me an opportunity to fat fast for a few days, without being lured into delicious indulgences.

Stay safe and well, everyone.

Great stuff. Join me on the ff thread.

7.1 mmol / L this morning (well, yesterday morning!)
5.2 mmol / L at bed time (the night before).

Busier than Satan!

Be well all.

5.3 yesterday and 5.0 this morning - not too bad after going to bed on 6.5 after a supper of strawberries and cream

4.8 fasting this morning. Cooler night, so sleeping better, thankfully. Wish I wasn't feeling so low however. Struggling. It's a pain in the butt. Anyway, at the risk of sounding dumb...what exactly is a fat fast, & why do it? I'm curious, but wish Baruney & MerryLizzard well with their project.
