Hi everyone. It has been quite some time since I last posted. Quite a few things have been going on and I have just been getting on with life as we all do. Last year was particularly difficult as my Mum was very ill and she sadly passed away last September. Prior to that my BS readings (I'm T2) were gradually rising and my GP put it down to stress and irregular mealtimes etc. I suggered with reflux which was made worse when eating carbs and I had to cut carbs completely out of my diet. Drastic I know but it helped the reflux and my readings dropped from 13-19+ mmol to 4-6 mmol. My GP reduced my meds to 2 Gliclazide/1 Sitagliptin per day. Unfortunately when my health improved the carbs crept back in and the BS readings went slightly up. I tried to keep low carbing and high fat and it worked for a few months. After that no matter what I ate the bloods were reading always above 10mmol (fasting) and going really high or very low. No rhymn or reason as far as I could see. Back to GP who increased Glic to 3 per day and several months later increased Glic again to 4 per day which I am currently taking. The readings are still high even though I have once again drastically reduced carbs (1 slice of wholemeal bread per day/ 1 potato a day). Eating mostly protein and fats. I know this is too long-winded and I apologize but I am just so down-hearted about the whole thing I don't know what to do any more. I have just read about LADA and am wondering if I might fit into this category? My father/grandmother/cousins/aunts all are either T1 or T2 so perhaps that has a bearing. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read all this and I would really appreciate any advice or guidance as to where I go from here. I was going to add a smiley face but I don't know how lol.
