I am newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I have swapped bread for kingsmill and warbutons sandwich thins are they ok for me to have? because the Doc said that I should change white bread for brown bread but I don't like brown bread so I thought that the sandwich thins would be ok to eat. Could someone please tell me thanks

Hello morgan32 i'll tag @daisy1 for you to get the info for new posters, most posters lchf which helps them control bs's and lose weight, nice to see you ,keep posting and ask as many q's as you like

Those sandwich thins are a highly manufactured version of "bread", so unlikely to be very good for you whether you are diabetic or not.

Hi. Yes, virtually all bread is a carb so not too good for us. Whole grain bread does smooth the absoprtion to reduce spikes but the overall affect is the same

Thanks for answering my question I think I stop eating bread all together and start eating crackers instead

Have you got a BS meter? By testing you can see how they affect your BS. I find that Thins will send mine high but I can manage 2 slices of seeded bread - which is strange because Thins have less carbs. I can also have one slice of the 50/50 bread which may be an option for you if you can tolerate it.
