Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days

Afternoon folks, a friend sent this link to me - just watching but its quite interesting.

Id be intruiged to know what others thought of it too?

 
Its about taking control .. I was on raw food for the first few weeks of taking control of my T2 (not intentionally, just the wife eats a lot of raw foods) and now cutting out my meds slowly as my medical centre like people to stay on meds !!!!!! I now eat low carb mid fats and feel great .. but know my T2 has not been "cured" or reversed as I know if I go back to my old eating habits I will revert back to old blood sugar problems ..
 
It sounds like you have the right idea, its unreal how much of a positive effect raw foods do have. I would love to think it was reversible (Im type 2 also) but unsure how, although I sit in enthusiastic hope :)

The thing that stands out in so many posts is how medical centre's like to keep patients on medication. The cynical side of me does believe its for funding the industry over cures.
 
Should add I am vegetarian.. And the wife borderline vegan .... My blood sugars increased when I was ordered to eat more carbs and low fat foods by my HFN ... Looking back I think they were trying to push me into the diabetic range as they tested twice a year for a few years trying to prove I was T2 .... I was becoming very unwell with this extra load of carbs and low fat products .. Feel great again now .. Eating almost what I was eating before my T 2 ... But I know if I went fully back to my old eating habits my bs will rise again.


EDIT : to add I am not supporting or saying the raw food or vegan diet will work .. Just that it seems to have worked for me and my T2 now appears to be in remission.. I now low carb med fat diet .. I Think they should be saying at the start of the film ..don't try this at home, as it my encourage some people to stop their medication without medical supervision!

Many people have managed to reduce their bloods to non-diabetic, and keep them there, including myself. It's relatively early days for me, having been diagnosed in late 2013, but I'm hopeful if I maintain my current weight and way of eating, I could continue this way very long term. Reversal is an emotive word, when it comes to T2 diabetes.

I didn't use this method, but a number of people have had success doing this or following its principals, in order to reduce both their bloods and their personal body fat levels.

If a type 2 diabetic removes sugar, refined carbs, all junk food, all fast food, and all factory processed food, they will most likely see benefits in blood glucose control. The idea that it was eating raw plants (rather than the **** they stopped consuming) that made the difference to these people's health is extremely doubtful in my opinion. In addition, the idea that a raw vegan diet can reverse type 1 diabetes is ludicrous. The people in the film advocating and teaching their raw vegan diet are very cult-like. The conclusion that a raw vegan diet is a healthy way to eat in the long term is not the conclusion I came to when I investigated what the optimal diet for humans might be.

This is pure "theatre". I am more than a little sceptical, it's nothing more than a false hope magnet. (In short "snake oil".) Especially for the T1.
I agree with @NoCrbs4Me on the "cult" aspect. There does seem to be an insidious undercurrent..

I'll tag @CatLadyNZ in on this one. It would be a shame if she missed it.. :cool:

No problem.. It was more than just a "twitch" for me. I strongly feel the "agenda" is glaringly obvious.. ;)
 
I'm a great fan of green smoothies. MArvellous things. And if they are made properly, they are great for my Typ0e 2 blood glucose levels.

But claiming that they do anything more than that is... kinda offensive.

Weightloss will help T2s. Keeping bgs (by whatever method) to non-diabetic levels will help all diabetics (IMO)

But believing that vid? Nah.

Besides. Claiming ANYTHING is 'reversed' after 30 days is absurd.
Give it a few years and I might be willing to see your data (I feel this about the Newcastle Diet too, so I'm not picking on Raw Veganism)
 
It would be interesting to see if it was what they ate or how it was not cooked that made the difference.

I was interested in a statement made quite early on that cooking food removes so much from the food. I love my steamer rather than boiling things to death, I had hoped that steaming helped to retain what was in the vegetable.

I also avoid processed foods and didn't go out of my way to increase my fat intake when I went low carb.

The best thing I can say is that I'm pleased that it opened the eyes of the 'victims'.
