any problem wit GPs ??!!

Is there an expiry date for getting my prescription

Not as such.

The system here is to prescribe drugs for a months supply.
So the doctor expects you to request a prescription once a month.
If you don't use thee prescription reasonably quickly, the pharmacist will ask why.
If you are on 'repeat prescription' you can phone, or fax, or, depending on the doctors, order online.
But if you order more than once a month they may wonder why.
If you are going abroad, they will prescribe to cover that period, for a month or two extra.
But if you simply order a month in hand occasionally you can work up a stock.

So you should be able to bring all the dates in line.
But remember, it will take some time for the doctor, nurse, and consultant to decide on your best treatment.
The consultant is the lead though, the others should follow his guidance.

Thank you

Prescriptions only last 6 months or if doctor puts a date on - controlled drugs like morphine has to be presented to a pharmacist Whithorn a week, otherwise questions would be asked like why didn't you get it immediately.
If your GP is part of a trust he may have to prescribe meds on one script and sundries on another, personally I can get what I need through out a month, like lancets every 2 weeks.
If the doctor is not prescribing the correct meds then you need to speak to him 1st, as lots of meds are very similiar sounding, I usually sit with my GP and go through list on his computer to get what I want

A quick way to get repeat prescriptions synced is by going to a chemist such as Boots, Lloyds or small independent chemists. Much easier than going to GP's.
