My eating habits are pretty routine and what I eat certainly is...http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today.75781/page-98#post-944157
so this weekend I thought I would try something different. I work a slightly later shift than the rest of my work 10:30 to 18:30. I have a strong coffee when I get in and then sometimes another in the afternoon and my pre dinner Bg is 4.7 to 5.3, give or take...
came home tonight and it was 3.6, tested again 3.7...
at 17:00 I had one of these: http://www.twinings.co.uk/tea/fruit-herbal/cherry-and-cinnamon-20-tea-bags
Lovely and worryingly sweet, though the box, when I got home says No Carbs, not much of anything really....

so wondering where the 3.6 came from

It could be an error. It could be at the lower or lowest end of the meter tolerance scale. It could be you normally go this low, but generally have a liver dump, bringing you up towards your usual testing time. It could even be a reactive low, if you've had a spike. And finally, from this baby brain dump, your usual coffee could be pushing your numbers up. I can't do too much strong coffee these days.

So, I think you have to do it all over again, and see what happens. If you really want to lift the lid on it, it probably means a bit more intense testing for both your usual and this most recent beverage.

Cinnamon is likely to make BG go down, it's used in Ayurvedic remedies.

I called Twinings once before and asked about added sugar. Their customer services department told me that there's no added sugar in any of their teas and none of the fruit infusions are more than 2 calories.

I drink lots of their organic Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Camomile and Peppermint teas with no ill effects.

I was going to do a time course of before and after a bag this afternoon but something came up at work... so will use today as a baseline and get a bag tomorrow afternoon... I'm down to 4.8 at the mo and wondering where it will go over the next couple of hours... till I get home.

With me it could be as simple as a couple of extra flights of stairs, at work, walking more briskly because it is colder, or that slight shift in schedule.

I'm actually better with no routine at all (because I know that I can't make any assumptions) than with a routine that I then break, because it throws me off.
