What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.8 this morning after an excellent 5.9 yesterday. pre-prandial. Diagnosed type 2 two weeks ago, have been low-carbing religiously since then and have lost 3 kilos. 7.8 was where I started from then, fasting. Why does this happen? Why are fasting readings higher than pre and post-prandial?

this seems quite interesting, maybe you'll get more replies tomorrow morning :)

Just checked and mine was 5.4mmol at 9.30am

Mine usually varies from 5.0-7.5mmol, i like to be around 5-6mmol where possible so i was happy with that this morning :)
Mine has been between 10 and 24 got to srr nurse next week

Its yer liver...natural for our livers to give us a shot of glucose ready for the days activities,it takes a while to get am fasting figure down, clive

Morning all. 7.6 today. Can't seem to get the morning fasting one any lower than that but it's a big improvement on 17 two weeks ago I guess :-)
