Which Diabetes Symptom Affects You Most ?

Pasta, sorry to me it's vile, yeuch lol (and full of nasty carbs)
I just wondered out of all the usual symptoms of diabetes, which one specifically affects you the most and affects your quality of life ? For myself I would say Fatigue/Sleepiness has the biggest impact on me.
I would appreciate any input on this, thanks.
 
Constant toilet breaks throughout my sleep! (Extra insulin)

But I'm weird!
 
Agreed, its the tiredness.Although since I've been LCHF I have been sleeping much better and have much more energy. I fell off the wagon this week and immediately felt dreadful and didn't sleep. Mercifully this seems to be my only symptom.
 
I am not sure, but it has been bothering me that some scratches haven't been healing properly and now appear to form scars.
 
I'm not hampered by any symptoms but those I notice are 1) obviously having to get up in the middle of the night and 2) my feet, with numbness under my toes and in the ball of each foot. It doesn't affect my balance but I feel it might be starting to affect my pedal footwork when driving.

Might not be the same thing, but my feet were a bit dodgy recently then I read @Omnipod's post #3 on this thread

I started the B12 and Alpha Lipoic Acid right away. That was just over a month ago and my feet are brand new now.
 
I used to have a very dry mouth at night, and get up to wee.

This has gone entirely, I can sleep through all night.
Fortunately no other problems manifested themselves before diagnosis.
 
For me, it is the insulin resistance - aching, tired, heavy limbs. Lethargy. Lack of get up and go. Exercise helps. Diet helps. But it is like holding back the tide.

Actually, now you remind me.... but the exercise and the weight loss totally switched it off.
 
Before I managed to control it my T2 made me so very tired all the time. Beyond tired really. I would fall asleep as soon as I got home from work, and nothing would wake me for hours. Often 14 or 15 hours. I would wake just in time to get up for work next morning and then repeat the cycle.

Almost forgot, feet would be burning hot.

Don't really have symptoms now. Except maybe cold feet.
 
Before I got my BG under control I had a persistent rash under my tummy (I was obese) and it was itchy and sore most of the time. Prescription antifungal creams didn't do a lot and it was only when my BGs improved that it got better.

Actually, you've just reminded me - I've been intending to look up 'what happens to PCOS and insulin resistance after menopause' cos, you know, we always try and kid ourselves that it might get better, don't we?

No such luck. Apparently my insulin resistance is due to increase in the next few years, with all the attendant unpleasantnesses. And, while they continue to medicate me for the tumour, that will continue to raise my IR too.

Ah well, onward, and upward.

The increased IR post-menopausally is, I'm sure, what tips many of we more women-folk over the line with Big D.

I'm not saying that's what did for me. I don't invest much head space thinking about that little conundrum, preferring to focus on keeping things at bay in the future.

I wonder if bioidentical hormone replacement therapy would help with this? I have found it hard to find impartial information on this treatment.

Yes, I saw that and I'm pondering .... will do a bit more research. Thanks. Nice to have brand new feet.
*edit* Started ALA tablets today. 300mg daily for a week to see how it feels, then all being well 600mg daily for three weeks.
