Hey guys :)
Ive had type 1 diabetes since the age of 8, a good few years now lol and I've recently just been started on the insulin pump.
Hoping to hear from a few others who are also on the insulin pump to share some stories and make some chums (including others NOT on pumps, not singling out the pump people here!) who like i say are also pancreatically challenged ( my nephew came up with this name for me, he thinks its hilarious lol) Hope to hear from lots of people!
Much Love

Diabetic of 43 years and still kicking and learning

Hi RRB thanks for your reply how do you find your control etc? Have you been diagnosed for a while?

Hi Jems, lots of up's at the moment and I had a bad time a couple of weeks ago, so DSN's said they want me to keep my BS between 7 and 10, as I am not to go low, but it's proving difficult. Type 1 for 26 years and it's like a roller coaster that I would rather get off of.
How are you managing ?
Take care RRB

Hello Jem and welcome to the forum. :) I'm not on a pump, so I inject and I have gradually reduced my bolus insulin over the last two years.

Thanks guys @Heathero I'm using Medtronic 640g system
Not familiar with Medtronic but basically management is very similar for all pumps. Just down to Basel and bolus levels, currently working on checking basels are set correctly. However away on holiday Friday. Be good to hear from you.

Hi I'm using this with my 12 year old daughter she has mody 5 and there thinking of using a pump on her as she keep going as low as 2.1. This is all new to us and a scary time for us both and as its a rare form of diabetes can't seem to get much help. I hope your pump goes well take care x

Oh dear, hope your feeling a little better now RRB??
I'm doing okay, seem to have sorted my basal and bolus rates out but still seem to get the odd high that comes straight back down within 2-4 hours so not really sure what's going on there!
Hope your on a slightly steadier roller coaster now!! Jem x

Hi Heathero, hope your having a good holiday! It's taken a couple of weeks but I think I have my basal rates sorted! Just seem to be having random highs for no reason but they come straight back down after 2-4 hours so not sure what's going on! Hope your well! Jem x
