    Am so proud of myself!

Got my HbA1c result back today and have managed to go from 10.6% to 7.3% in six months! I finally accept that I have diabetes and I can gain some control back. To top it all off will be getting my pump in June, all confirmed including the date! Sorry just had to share the good news. Andrea x

    I'm on the list....

Had an appointment today at a different hospital to discuss going on a pump, and although I need to spend the next six months prooving I can record my data, I have been added to the list with a view to starting on a pump early next year. I am so excited and feel the most positive I have EVER...

    Support Needed, again!

DAFNE was great. I went on the course in February and my HBA1c has come down to 8, I'm exercising again, have lost weight and am back in control. I do find it hard but I am working on it, as was said previously it is for life. DAFNE made me realise that. I was great having a whole week to...

    Support Needed, again!

I do my best for a few months and then once again I stop! I stop all my medication and pretend I am fine. What I don't understand is why? I know it is wrong and that I am digging myself an early grave but what can I do to stop myself? My levels haven't been lower (when I do test) than 10 for...

    Just Not Motivated

Hi! I know where you are coming from. Although I was diagnosed much later at the age of 20 I have been struggling a lot over the last few years. However, two months ago I happened to have a Consultant appointment the week after my Nan had a bad stroke and I nearly cancelled it as I was...

    Feeling down....

Jo Thanks for words of encouragement. It is good to think I might be able to undo some of the damage I have clearly already done or at least stop any further damage. My Nan had a stroke two weeks ago (she is 89) and although she is that much older the thought that that could be me in 20 years...

    Feeling down....

Thanks for the support. I'm not sure all my blood results yet as only had them taken on Wednedsay (that said my GP phoned late yesterday as she was concerned about some readings, and to have a phone call from them they must be bad!). I've been leaking protien in my urine since 05 when it was...

    Feeling down....

Hi! I've posted a few times before but then either start being good or ignore my problems altogether! I'm type one (just had my HBA1C back at 9.7!), am also a coeliac with an underactive thyroid! Went to Diabetic Clinic on Wednesday and I need to do something as my kidneys aren't looking good...

Hi, Does anyone live in the Yeovil area?

Yes I do! I might know you, I am 32 and have two kids! I am Type 1 (but slow onset!) and not very good at keeping control! I would love to meet, I went to the help group meeting that DiabetesUK were going to set up but I was by far the youngest! I know that older people have a lot of good...

    Help get me straight!

Jacqui Thanks for the reply and encouragement. I know I have to do this and I too can be stubborn, I just seem to do things for everyone else and not me! Ands

    Help get me straight!

Hi all. :( I'm 32 and have been diabetic (Type 1 ish) for 8 years. I find it really hard to control my sugars, diet etc. The only time I have been good was when I was pregnant with my two children (ages 7 and 5). Now I have to do it for myself I can't. I try everything and it lasts for...
