    Avoiding data gaps

So you can’t ever avoid an hours gap then?

    Avoiding data gaps

If I apply my new sensor an hour before the old one runs out, do I scan the new one straight away or wait till it’s needed?

    Pasta to live and love

I have been replacing spaghetti with thinly sliced sweetheart cabbage stir fried in olive oil with black pepper and black onion seeds. It is way nicer then it sounds , is a great carrier for the sauce and I’m not missing the real thing at all.

What do you do about fruit?

Thank you, this is all really helpful. I too thought fruit was ‘good for me’!

What do you do about fruit?

I’m a new T2 not on medication and am using my trial libra 2 sensor to understand what happens to my BSs when I eat my normal vegan diet. I usually eat a lot of fruit but it’s the single thing that sends my numbers up as I’m not a cake/sweets eater. I was hoping to control my diabetes without...

    Carb counting app recommendations

I went looking for a carb counting app today and there seem to be loads. Ideally I’d like one that I can photograph nutrition labels (because they are hard to read), be able to add a recipe once you’ve worked it out and it magically stores the info for another day. I’d be very grateful for...

Freestyle Libre - bleeding THROUGH new sensor

My very first ever sensor bled, got it all over my hands, phone, shirt and sofa as I didn’t notice immediately and no expectation of what to expect. The sensor gave very dodgy readings of less than 3.5, even after a meal. Then packed up after only 10 hours. I had quite a bruise at the site and...

Deleting spurious data on libra 2 app

My first trial sensor failed after 10 hours and most of that time the readings showed BG of less than 3.5 despite having a sizeable meal. I now have a replacement working fine but the data remains on the app and is skewing the trends. Is it possible to delete spurious data or have it deleted by...

    Arm monitor

I’m new to this so can’t advise other than to say there are at least two and both do free trials. I’m starting with Freestyle Libra 2. After the trial it works out at around £100/month but it’s worth checking if you are eligible to get them on prescription.

    Sensor failure

Thank you, that’s helpful. That’s what I did, I’m keen to avoid making more waste if possible!

    Sensor failure

Thank you, just called Abbott and a replacement is being sent. Any thoughts on the skin prep?

    Sensor failure

I received my free trial freestyle Libra 2 sensor yesterday. I followed all the instructions when applying it (except the alcohol wipe because I didn’t have one). Overnight it failed and I awoke to a message on the app saying ‘sensor ended apply new sensor’. It’s stuck on really well, I tried...

Nurse advises vegan diet not healthy

Thank you, that looks very much like what I eat, just never labelled it as a ‘diet’. Looks good [emoji1360]

Nurse advises vegan diet not healthy

Thank you. I’m not a new vegan, just a new diabetic. What does &#8203 mean?

Nurse advises vegan diet not healthy

I’m newly diagnosed T2, have been vegan for around 5 years and had a difficult start with the nurse at my new GP surgery. He said it’s really not healthy to be vegan when you have diabetes because all the sources of protein have carbs in and has encouraged a resumption of meat and dairy. I...
