    When I had an Hba1c of 7.4, every time I was ill one of the doctors in the practice wouls saY 'well what do you expect you are diabetic and badly controlled' AND the practice nurse told my husband at his appointment that I didn't look after myself!

    I know some people who ha eused the NHS no smoking clinics very succesfully, unfortunately they were't around when I was giving up smoking 20 years ago. One lady I know went after she had given up for 2 months already, but needed some support and she says they are the greatest help to her.

    A lot of chemists will give advice on minor ailments. They do sound like when I had some bites, but do keep an eye on them even if they are bites.

    If it were me I would probably try a little antihistamine cream, something like savlon or tcp and if it stops itching, it's a bite or allergy of some sort. Other wise if it carries on or gets worse do you have walk in centre or a local pharmacy which will give advice?
