    Question About Swimming With Libre

Hi Everyone, I am thinking about getting myself a Libre and trialling it for a month or to see how I get on. I am doing a triathlon next month which includes a 1.5k swim which will take me somewhere between 40 and 50 minutes. Now I have done some research and also checked with the company and...

    T1D London Meetups Next Event

I have been following these for a while and have either never got around to going or have been busy. However I think I will show up this time and say Hi. They look like fun and I hardly ever get to meet T1s so would like to start getting involved.

    obstinate Type1 son

If your son wants to chat quite happy to PM with him. No judgement or fixes but if he just needs to offload. I've pretty much been there done that and collected most o

It doesn't have to turn out like that Panorama programme suggested

Also factually very incorrect. The description of the difference between T1 and T2 is that T1s are born with the condition. Really? *** no wonder we all struggle explaining this stuff to non diabetics.

    Need Feedback Please

Yes to be honest you sound more like a T1 going through the honeymoon phase. I would definitely ask for more tests then you can start getting your treatment sorted correctly. If you are T1 and they take you off insulin you will start getting sick again pretty quickly.

What is it like to pass out during a hypo

@himtoo I also get strange flashes of light as well sometimes. It's like psychedelic swirls of orange and brown which is why I feel like I am "mentally drowning". They are really horrible and there is an underlying sense of fear and dread involved but none of it makes any sense. It is really...

What is it like to pass out during a hypo

Unfortunately I have had numerous episodes of these over the years. I went through ha particularly bad stage about 5 years ago when issues in my life were causing me to become very defensive about my diabetes and refusing help. I was actually self harming by using my blood sugars to stay at...

Please tell me you get it too! Feeling fed up and lonely X

You had a syringe gun?? Wow you were lucky. I had to inject myself with a pointy stick. And I was grateful for it as well :) Seriously though "we" all get it. I'm a T1 baby at 33 years service compared to some people here but it's like a big stone we carry around. I've currently got a frozen...

    Great Day on Sunday

Hi Everyone, I haven’t posted on here for a while but would just like to share with you my fantastic day at the Prudential London-Surrey Ride 100 cycle on Sunday. It’s the 2nd year I have done it (1st being 2014 when the route length was curtailed to 86 miles due to bad weather). I’ve been...

Continuous Glucose monitoring device advice please

As a very regular cyclist I can't recommend pumps enough. You may not want one because you think they are a pain to wear them all the time but I can assure you this is a very minor inconvenience that you very quickly get used to. At the moment I am training to do the London Surrey Ride 100 next...

Steroid injection over 2 weeks ago...bloods still not right!

Hi, I had a steroid injection about 4 months ago for a shoulder problem and my bloods were also random for about 2-3 weeks. Mainly I had to up my basel as well but I also suffered a few really bad night time hypo's as well. Nothing you can do about it but just wait for them to get out of your...
