What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I thought perhaps I would post with all this chat about books (I read this and other threads every day but rarely post) I own and run a used book shop and have done for the past 40 years. The Internet has been a life saver as the foot fall in the shop has fallen to almost none most weeks but I...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@lindisfel I am not very tall but slightly taller than Shuhite. I like the story of Job and thought it was a good name. I often use obscure Bible names as either user names or passwords. There are not many people who have any clue who Bildad was

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

In my house now (and growing up) Meal 1 is breakfast at 6am meal 2 is dinner at 12.30 and meal 3 is tea at about 6pm. These days I only have coffee for breakfast, often nothing for dinner, and something low carb for tea. I am both northern and working class so I guess that is why I have a mid...

    Libre2 and swimming

Thank you @Rachox for the link. The patch worked brilliantly. We swam twice during the week and the patch stayed attached all week. The camp food was VERY carby. One day Bolognese was served which had peas and sweetcorn in it. It was served with pasta, mash and bread. Some of the folks there had...

    Libre2 and swimming

Thank you for your replies. I will purchase some of those @Rachox recommends. It will be interesting to see what a week at summer camp does to my numbers. The food on offer will be the usual children's fare of burgers, fish fingers etc and lunches are usually bread based. I am mainly carnivore...

    Libre2 and swimming

I self fund a Libre 2 and am due to take some children away to a summer camp at the end of July. We will be taking them swimming and I will be one of the leaders going into the pool with them. Does the Libre 2 cope with chlorinated water? Would I need to cover it in any way? Thanks in advance

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Or could it be that God created the sun, moon and seasons, appointed people to worship him at set times and the pagans followed the Jews worshipping their God's at those same times?

Just a thought @Annb Do you think that your higher readings could be due to your joint pain? As you know Diabetes is a multi faceted thing that not only reacts to food but to stress and many other stimuli. You have no doubt considered this ut sometimes we get tunnel vision and get fixed on food...

    Cholesterol and Statins

As @HSSS says it is your choice what if any medication you take. I have just had my annual blood tests and was not advised to fast but as @Outlier I always water fast before. My total cholesterol is always high but the ratios are well within the recommended levels and after much reading on here...

    Migraine / visual disturbances

@RosGartlandio my nephew (who is 27and non diabetic) has a similar issue. He used to run but recently after each one he has suffered with a bad migraine. He has come to the conclusion that hydration is a big part of the problem. He runs far less than he did but can still do it if he makes sure...
