    R-ALPHA LIPOIC ACID

Everything I have read says use the R version. Others here have said 600mg/day is recommended.

Maybe a little. I'm still pretty early on. I'm going to stick with it.

Warning signs of diabetic neuropathy in my feet?

I have heard that meds don't work that great for numbness, but can help with pain. I don't really want to be on meds either, but it could be worth a visit with your doctor.

Warning signs of diabetic neuropathy in my feet?

Warning signs of diabetic neuropathy in my feet?

Sorry to hear you are still struggling with this. For me, it came on suddenly after lowering blood sugar quickly after diagnosis. Really bad burning early on. Slowly got better year after year. A couple of months ago, I would have told you I was about 80 percent back to normal and happy with...

    R-ALPHA LIPOIC ACID

I take one tablet in the morning and one in the evening. The one I am using is 240 mg, so I am getting 480 mg/day. Hoping it helps with burning in my feet. Don't know if it is helping yet, but I've only been on it for a few weeks. Many say 600 mg/day is where you need to be.

    Treatment induced diabetic neuropathy???

Stay after it. Hopefully you get some relief soon. Like I mentioned, mine slowly but steadily got better over the past 5 plus years. Trying to figure out what caused this recent flare up. Mine seems to vary in intensity too. How about for the rest of you?

    Treatment induced diabetic neuropathy???

Have you tried keeping your blood sugar down by going low carb and dropping medications? It may or may not make a difference, but just curious. Hopefully even though this came back again, it will fade to a very low level again. Anyone tried red light laser therapy? I haven't tried any of the...

    Treatment induced diabetic neuropathy???

Same thing happened to me. Had no symptoms upon diagnosis. Quickly dropped my A1C from 8.3% to 5.6% in about 4 months. Burning pain in my feet came on suddenly. Had it in my hands too to a lesser degree. Was pretty bad for a few months, but slowly got better. Here I am almost 6 years...

Does this sound like Neuropathy? Sudden burning sensations in upper legs following improved glucose control.

Sorry to hear that. Did all of it come on at once, or did you have numbness first and then pain? Mine came on suddenly. Burning feet. No numbness. It took a while, but it did get better. I can't recall exactly, but I would guess that after about 6 months of good control I started seeing...

Does this sound like Neuropathy? Sudden burning sensations in upper legs following improved glucose control.

No meds. Just went to a low carb diet. Remind me how long you have been having these pains? Have you noticed any differences from when it started?

I mean its certainly possible. I've been trying to figure out what I have done differently. Other than playing a lot more golf lately, not sure. Surely that's not it, and if it is I'll probably just tough it out anyway. :)
