i am trying very hard to understand signs and symptoms of felling **** :) i had my brekkie today of museli and semi skimmed milk, then later on began to feel naff. here is my readings for today 7:40 up reading of 5.2 brekkie (1 cup of museli and semi skimmed milk) cup of tea no suagr or sweetner...

my diabetes nurse said change my diet and eat healthily have museli etc for brekkie, so today i took my blood 2 hours after the museli and i was at 8.7........is that classed as healthy then? at the moment i am diet only and finding it hard to eat stuff and be back down in 2 hours the lowest...

well good news. i dug my monitor out that i purchased a year ago when i first suspected i had diabetes, went to see the nurse and she was over the moon that i wanted to self test myself :) out come her little pad and she wrote a script for 100 strips and 200 needles, went to boots on saturday...

hi all got a free test kit yesterday so thought i'd use the thing and test myself. am working night shift this week so here are my results any advice appreciated. (am a newbie :) ) before my tea i did not test tea:- ham salad, chips, french stick, salad cream :) 2hours later 12.8 9:55pm 6.5...

my point about this is that if you are required to test your glucose levels etc then surely these strips and lancet things should be provided....for free :) otherwise how do you know what you are eating is right or not. other than this i am not a pill popper and work full time

2nd question lol be gentle. i was always led to belive that diabetics get free prescriptions, however it would seem this is not the case. i am newly diagnosed type 2 and have been told because i am not on any medication yet they are not free :( i belive this is a way of keeping the costs down...
